Awsum vid, seen the reg and had to look twice. I owned this car many years ago was completely stock even took it to Nurburgring myself in 2014, was gutted when had to sell it too a good friend who also did another trip to Germany in it. Great to see it’s still going and is now a full on track car. Great driving aswell 👌

Reminds me a lot of my old EF8 CR-X, or moreso what it could've been had I kept working on it. You can definitely see how the larger bottom end helps keep him in the zone, and acceleration especially up above 160kmph is clearly improved over an NA b16. Excellent driving! Could easily have pushed harder without traffic, but it was good to see such sportsmanship on the track. Cheers

Fantastic car and fantastic driver! An absolute joy to watch! You need to experience Toyota's "VTEC" Misha! In Toyota, they call it VVTL-i and it is a very nice NA engine too! The 2ZZ-GE engine from Toyota is on the 7th generation Celica , the T-Sport variant and on the Corolla T-Sport of the same time period ;) My dream would be to drive mine from Portugal to the Nurburgring , do some TF laps and head south again! If I go there I will definetely let you drive my car (Celica T-Sport with a few minor mods)! ;)

Great to hear the V-Tec, a colleague of mine had a Civic in the late 90s and I remember the noise - awesome. He used it to introduce me to lift-off oversteer - unfortunately stolen from Glasgow. Hopefully they are less desirable now and Sean holds on to his. Would have loved another camera on the rev counter to reminisce!

I think the reason for the smiles is that it's the perfect balance of power, weight, grip and pure rawness. A lot of cars nowadays are overpowered and too luxurious so feel sanitised.

Absolutely love the way the VTecs sound when forced induction isn't introduced as a mod. Big bore kit with necessary supportin mods n good headers n exhaust makes them sound so alive n old school motorsport-like. Add velocity stacks n it's literally cherry on the cake! 300-350bhp in a tiny light weight car can be so much fun.
