You can do it. Do a power pose (stand like Superman for two minutes) a few times. I forget if I mentioned it but I totally took a bathroom break and stretched/did a few squats🤣. You got this!

Thank you for making this video, it was super helpful and calmed my nerves. My test is scheduled for July 15th and I’m super nervous!Are you allowed a calculator during the exam? Also, is the study guide you used actually just called “Vet Tech Prep”? Thanks again girl!! And congratulations on passing!
@vtneandbeyond91304 жыл бұрын
Ayana Maree hey! There is a calculator in the program you’ll be taking your test on. It’s like a computer calculator super simple and they give you scratch paper. VetTech prep is the program that I used and have heard it’s the most comparable to the test. I can’t remember specific questions but I know there were questions on the test almost identical to the program. Good luck on your test!! And thank you!

I answered all the questions on my gut instinct. Usually if I sit and stew over questions. I’ll change my mind. For questions I didn’t know. I marked what ever I thought best and moved on. I used my time on math questions or questions that had confusing wording. Good luck!! I hope this got to you before your test! You’ll be fine💜

Thank you for these videos... they help the information make so much more sense! Since you didn't go to school either, did you basically just teach yourself from scratch from VTP? Because although I've been working as an assistant for 6 years, a lot of the VTP questions are things we've not dealt with in our small animal practice, so only a small percentage of VTP is from OJT knowledge. Can you tell me what your study sessions were like and what worked best for you? Each evening for about 2 hours, I just do VTP practice questions and write down any explanations I don't know... but I'd love to know what you did to study and if there is something better I could be doing! :) Thank you so much!

Hey! 💜 sorry for taking so long I don’t check on these as often as I should. Technically, I only used VTP. The best study style for me was Pomodoro, especially on weekends. I suggest you make friends with the doctors you work with- by this I mean ask all the questions, look up anything you don’t understand (google,KZbin) and potentially work relief in an emergency clinic. I would bet the doctors you work with have books in the hospital you are currently at and they would be more than willing to let you read/borrow those books. I think the advantage that I had was that I worked in an internal medicine and emergency hospital. I basically have been surrounded by people in veterinary medicine since I was 18.

I took my VTNE for the first time and I didn’t pass. But I am considering the vet tech prep. How helpful was it? Like does the program go in detail on answers to questions? I’m so nervous. I plan on taking again in April 😅
@vtneandbeyond91303 жыл бұрын
Hey!! Like I’ve mentioned in my videos, the only real study tool I used was VTP and I did not go to school. So it was extremely helpful to me. They have practice questions, study pages, pictures of instruments. The questions for me were very similar to the questions on the test. I never tried memorizing the questions but when I got an answer wrong I would research that disease/ drug/ or whatever the question was on. You have time to study if you start now you’ll do amazing!! Good luck. 💕

What vet tech prep did you use to study?
@vtneandbeyond91304 жыл бұрын
I used the full online version (90 days). There’s a chart that tells you when and what to study. I didn’t really go off of that. I mainly reviewed the things I knew first to make sure I was solid on them. Then I studied the things I didn’t know. The things I couldn’t understand, I went to a merk manual and read about in more detail.

PocketPrep iPhone app (or website) has 600 current (2020) VTNE practice questions. I love it.
