Okay.... let's be honest: This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen :D The quad is so amazing. It hovers and you turn your stick forward and suddenly it just fires right away. Really love the concept and the realization. Keep it up!

I've got a tilt rotor VTOL design I sketched out a few years back that I've been wanting to build a prototype of, but I haven't had the funds. I also haven't taken the time to fully flesh out the details and blueprints with a CAD program, I should probably get on that.

Sweet product, but those motors sound like they are struggling. With a little bit of pid work. It would be sweet. Also, you are prime to respond to all of these comments, what a great business strategy. I hope to see you in the big picture sometime.
@AIMDROIXLLC8 жыл бұрын
The motor sound of the VTOL are from the PIDs being on the high side. P was a bit high. Like you are saying,with some more tuning time, I should be able to get it to fly better. Responding to comments wasn't actually thought as an strategy, I just started to read the comment and respond to the one that I had something to say. LOL it's really cool to do it. Thanks for those good wishes.

@AndrewMcClenaghan41828 жыл бұрын
Tilting rotors won't be faster than a normal quad. The rear rotors end up with dirty air from the front ones. It is also heavier due to the servos.

@remyllebeau773 жыл бұрын
What if you make the wings part of the drone? So you have 4 wings that become rudders or flaps based on the orientation of the drone. Basically it would have two wings for lift and 4 engines when in flight mode. No need to add extra wings and weight. Although I admit the wings could make it hard to use with wind in hover mode.

Your cameraman/pilot is really good, is it one person controlling the quad and another the camera, or a single person? *I think it'd be an awesome insight if you did a video highlighting this person/team and their abilities/process. Thank you!
@aerospacenews8 жыл бұрын
Both of Michael's quads were awesome! Thanks for bringing his creativity to the channel. Question: Were there any full time pusher motors on the model with the wing? They may have only been servos but I thought (only watched once while chowing) I saw one either on the center of the wing trailing edge or on the tail. Thanks!
@AIMDROIXLLC8 жыл бұрын
Only the 4 quad motors are used. It's pretty much the same setup of the quad but with a new servo harness, to connect the wing servos to the FC, and the wing/wing mount.
