African immigrants are a completely separate group in every way except for race. It's an improper comparison. You have a group that are either scholars or largely business class moving to another country. That alone will eliminate a lot of problems. Once they move, they embed themselves within like minded communities of other Africans or business/scholars. Those two factors drastically reduce crime. Add to that that they are completely intact culturally and it's abundantly clear that it's two distinct groups.

I agree with the majority of what he says however. He's looking through a narrow lens. If you follow how the slaves were inquired by western Europeans you will find that they were bought and paid for from Africans. The African slave trade was created by conquering tribes that would capture rape and kill other tribes. And if you were one of the lucky ones from the defeated tribe you were put into slavery and sold to the Europeans. Those that weren't were killed. That's the part of this history that no one ever talks about is where did they get the slaves and who enslaved them. Restitution should be claimed by those that captured and enslaved the slaves originally, not from those that bought them. But it would be tough to get that retribution from a 3rd world country. I want to make clear slavery is a terrible and horrible thing should never have happened. But we need to tell the whole story not just one part

How does any of that change what happened here in this country? That goes to what he was talking about with the chattel slavery conversation. Even in those African tribes that were selling people they caught under war, there was no condition of eternal slavery. It simply didn't exist. There were rules and terms that were followed and it was for a finite timeline. That's honestly neither here nor there regarding America though when it comes to slavery and reparations because it's two separate parts of the conversation, and it's only used to deflect from the history of this specific country. Nobody would accept that line of argument from Germany regarding what they did with concentration camps because we can all acknowledge it would be a bs argument to place blame and or attention elsewhere.

Average household income for African American is $29k and White American household is $180k. Whites are not smarter - we are equally as smart, that number should be comparable. A fair reparations number would be $150k to each black household to make the average household income the same for both whites and blacks, since their has been exponential growth over the pass 200 years for whites. If you disagree, then offer a different number or structure. Saying no and we are victim is incorrect, a debt is due just like a car note or mortgage.
