The 4 pins next to the heat sink are used to program the sat. receiver.

What you indicate with "chipset cooling" are the connectors for the Common Interface (CI) slots. RS232 socket is to plug infrared remote receiver.

FBC for DVB-C seems like amazing feature. You can watch up to 8 different channels on different frequencies via only 1 cable. Perfect. Price quite high though.

Motherboard looks very plain for 329 EUR :) I hope cooling will be enough. Duo 2 and Duo 1 have had problems with heat.

Cool review, I certainly have my eye on this reciever, can you tell me please, I see it comes with a single FBC tuner, do the two inputs have to come off a single satellite feeds, or is it possible to have two satellite feeds going into the same tuner, I was thinking hotbird and astra 28, with a terrestrial tuner for saorview TV on the next tuner

this multituner I have mounted onboard is SAT only. For the terrestrial you gonna buy separate tuner. But I reckon you know this and asking primarily for the multifeed. Actually I have 3 dishes with total 5 LNBs (0.8, 13, 19, 23, 28) on them hooked into this box :) Having two diseqcs. From those two diseqc having two COAXes into each input. Working perfectly. Using VTI 14. In the VTI you are able to manage as many connections as you wish. You only have to buy diseqc with two impust and two outputs. In the VTI you will setup both tuners the same way: simple diseqc with two lnb (astra nad hotbird)

I think Vu+ should add another HDMI out. On my Duo 2 HDMI out connector fried twice. Currently using RGB analog cables - picture quite ok even though its not digital.

It is a shame that you are limited to 2.5" HDDs though. They only go up to 5TB. If only there was a version with a 3.5" HDD. I suppose you could using a SATA data and power extension plug in a 3.5" drive for bigger capacity but then you got an ugly drive sitting outside the machine. If only the Ultimo 4K hadn't been discontinued. I tried getting one off eBay but the prices sellers are asking for is just stupid. Am not paying £400 or more for a second hand receiver when I can buy the Duo 4K SE brand new cheaper especially if I got to spend about £300 on top buying tuner cards and HDD for it.

Vu+ after stopping producing of Ultimo 4k just go for minimalism and release poor version call duo 4k with one reader card and less one slot for dvb-s/t2 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
