You know how annoyed I am that pretty much any of the cast of EWS could have been cast as the new Han Solo but were not? I don’t know how annoyed either, but pretty damn annoyed, that’s for sure.

Its the same director lol...this is the 80s college version.

Marky T Linklater, the director himself of both films, calls this a spiritual successor to Dazed because one is inspired by his high school experiences in Huntsville while this one is inspired by his experience on the SHSU baseball team.

If you're looking for the fun that Richard Linkletter usually brings, you will be sorely disappointed. This movie has not one likeable character.. all are two-dimensional and uninteresting. The acting was forced and boring. The only redeeming quality was the sets and the costumes, those were fun and realistic. This movie wasn't only plotless, like most of Linkletter's films, but it didn't have one dramatic moment worth watching. Not one interesting character or piece of interesting dialogue. It's sad.

I wasn't disappointed, I liked it. I liked all of these characters. I thought the acting was fine. If you think his movies are pointless, what the fuck are you even doing watching them?

Mike Landers How was this any less "fun" than Dazed and Confused? Or plotless? There were many likable characters to me, but that's purely opinionated, so your assessment is unfairly directed to anyone reading this. Stick to watching movies. Your "review" is poor.
@AlcaniZFilms7 жыл бұрын
Nick, Dazed had likeable characters and somewhat of a plot. It's not an opinion, it's an observation.. and it's obvious that Everybody Wants Some was forced and boring in comparison to all of Link's prior films. The main character is two dimensional, a drag. The females are even more boring. Watching the movie was difficult and that's not how it should be. Dazed was easy and entertaining, there were laughs and tense moments. It seemed real. Everybody Wants seemed staged and out of touch.. nothing felt authentic.

Mike, if you were fortunate enough to play college baseball, especially at a school in Texas (yes, to answer the question in your head right now, i did play college baseball and in Texas at that) this movie is authentic as films come. I'm sorry, that you weren't able to receive the experience and feel that your opinion regarding this film holds water, but unfortunately, due to your lack of the qualifying experience I mentioned, your comments regarding the authenticity of this film and its characters holds ZERO ground in what that life and lifestyle is/can be like.
@AlcaniZFilms7 жыл бұрын
Aaron, that's cool you had the experience of playing college basketball and can relate to the characters, but good movie with realistic characters will connect with anyone who watches it. I've never been a high school music teacher, I can't relate to Linklater's School of Rock. It was charming and entertaining -- it was nearly his best movie in my opinion. His best was Before Sunrise, then Dazed. I'm not saying this movie had no redeeming qualities - it just felt flat and forced.
