Mostly the puncheurs, the strong classics guys, act as lead outs for the sprinters, but I'm surprised teams don't send a guy to get a gap and force the sprinters into a long game more often. Seems like the classics guys could snipe a lot of sprint finishes that way. I suppose the course has to be right, and I know the lead outs are moving at high velocity, but that still leaves a lot of opportunities (as we saw today). It's extremely rare to see in the grand tours (but not the classics).

I love WVA, he’s my favorite rider. But closed the door more than a little bit. He travels at least 4 feet to the left with about 100 meters to go.

Allthough minor its true, but I most of all I blame the finishlines that are made in an bend. The uci rules state no corners in the final 500m of a race yet we see it happening all the time.
@Juttekatoo4 ай бұрын
Sorry, but I don't agree Sprinting and following the curve of a bend is more dangerous. he just takes the shortest route. As always the organisation is to blame to make the finish after a bend.

It seems to me that Groves wasn't fast enough getting around the lead-out man pulling off, and so as Wout came around him it looked like no one was there. It would have been a very bad line if they hadn't both had to go around the lead-out man so close to the finish, but given the circumstances it wasn't terrible.

@@chrismartinez4933 he has to focus on the Rainbow, he is conditioning for zone 4-6 power, Vuelta requires zone 2-4, can't have both.

I'm a big fan of the Visma team but I too wanted to see Pogi do the Vuelta and go for the triple crown. But it wasn't meant to be. He jokingly said that his teammates would've revolted if he tried to do the Vuelta also. lol

At least it'll be interesting between the two due to the race being so hilly for green. WVA with the intermediate sprint points or Kaden Groves with most amount of stage wins.
