I love photography because it gives be the ability to be creative and tell the story I want to tell with my full control, the ability to document and create memories we can look back on and get that same feeling we felt in that moment. To be able to hold on to those memories and cherish them forever, the ability to pass down the pictures to our children so they can look back on how it was in that time like I do with my grandparents old film pictures. The ability to be feel like your free, and have fun with your friends and family. The reason I love film photography especially is because it’s a beautiful and dangerous challenge where if you don’t apply your self in a special and passionate way it can easily show through the final product. When going through tough times I’ve always kept my canon AE-1 close to me and have always used it as a way to express my self creatively without even having to say a single word. The art of shooting, developing, and scanning makes it so much more intimate and rewarding. In the mist of adult hood, college, parenthood, grief and loss, changing careers, I’ve always desired the art of film to help ease the tensions that rise from the day to day tensions.

Whether it’s being inspired by other artists or by life itself, photography captures those feelings - it may even produce different feeling altogether when the photo comes out. Either way, I love shooting because I get to keep and build upon something that was into something is, hoping for something that will be!

*** CLICHÊ ALERT *** I love photography because it is my form of creative expression to help me portray how I see my surroundings when I'm doing street photography, how I wan't my surroundings to be seen when I do a model or product shoot and I love how it can be a paradox sometimes due to the fact that I can hate my work, look at it a few days later and think it's fire, or vice versa. It's just cool to always be on the pursuit of wanting to better my work and reach new heights with my photography and how I can better my craft. Living in Brazil and watching these film related videos make me even more intrigued to want to really dive deep into the film world someday, but unfortunately the city I live in doesn't help since I don't have access to the film world. To be able to acquire that Fujifilm camera would really be a dream come true. Watching these film videos here on YT for a few years now and to transition into actually owning one and making content about the whole learning curve journey, do my shoots with models and friends, document my life would be what I envision and I know it's something I want to do in the future. ** I KNOW THE COMPETITION IS USA ONLY** but don't worry, I got some relatives in the US that could get this camera to me if I were to somehow win.. My instagram is: @brasiliandave and photography instagram is @dave.mota

I love photography because it helps calm me down. Looking through the viewfinder, focusing on the composition, helps me forget about my anxiety. Instead of constantly worrying about my surroundings, i can block everything out and only focus on my shot. Plus i love trying out new cameras and figuring out how they work. I love photography because of the ability it gives me to capture a moment. Like not just purely documentation, but the ability (if you push yourself) to make other people see how YOU see the world. Love the new story telling direction you have taken with the recent vids. Makes me want to create a lot more. Why do I love film photography? Film is a piece of time. Time and light that was captured by you and your camera. A still in life that will not be deleted (as long as you take care of it of course lol). A piece of plastic that you can always look back to and remember how you felt when you took the picture. The wind, the light, the smells all come back as soon as you look at that piece of film. That is the reason I shoot film. Its a reminder of time for me.

Only shooting photos with my friends during the summer. But since then I’ve branched out and have learned to love going out and shooting nature and animals, and my everyday life. It gives me a reason to explore and go to places I’ve never been before. Even if don’t have any friends with me when I’m shooting it’s nice way to reset, be in the moment, and refresh my mind.

I’ve always had a passion for photography. I’ve grown up seeing my dad always taking videos of trips for memory sake. I grew up to be my older sisters 'padawan’ which REALLY is what allowed me to find a new outlet of expression. I am new to film photography but I cannot help but to love the process and the idea that one’s curiosity or way of creating art can move other individuals. I love creating art, I love letting individuals see what I see through my eyes. There’s so much beauty in what we all create. My passion is what keeps me going.

I LOVE photography because my grandfather put me on the importance of capturing the moment. What he meant by that was, every second in life isn’t reversible until it’s captured. Everyone complains about how time flies or how they wished they could go back to a certain time and relive it….and that’s what made me fall in love with photography. Also you Vuhlandes💯 you gave me a different perspective on film and also the stigma on shooting certain people and places. Now I continue shooting whatever I want while inspiring the next person!

I love photography because of the moments you can capture that happen in a instant yet are never forgotten especially when looking back at the picture. The reason that I love photography is because with the world ever changing photography has the ability to freeze those special moments and you have the ability to put your creative spin on how you see the world around you. I didn’t get into photography until I was older because where I grew up it wasn’t an art form that seemed attainable. As an adult my camera has given me a tool to be more expressive than I’ve ever been and as a Black man I definitely appreciate having a space to vent creatively. Photography tells a story, about our own hearts and a story about surroundings. And shooting film not only lets you do that, but it also lets you immerse yourself in history, shooting the way people in the 60s or even 1800s were capturing their own memories. It’s an expression but it’s also telling a story of a bigger picture. That’s why I love photography

The biggest reason I love photography is that it's become a social tool for me. Starting out in high school, I wasn't the most social butterfly. As I became more comfortable shooting, I became more comfortable with myself. Rather than being some bozo flashing a camera around, I just felt like myself. I was able to share the joys and beauty of the world, and sometimes each other. While chasing for those ideal shots, I can take some time to enjoy the moment and maybe meet new people. I’ve been so inspired by your new video style, they feel so cinematic but real at the same time. And the colors >>>> The reason I love (film) photography is because of the feelings and emotions you can achieve. It’s art. Photography is literally photographing moments in time, thoughts, and feelings in a way that paintings or drawings can’t emulate. I think it also goes without saying but the depth and colors you can achieve with film is unreal, and you can curate a certain mood or feeling depending on what film you use.

I love the feeling I get after seeing something I created, it’s mostly an excited feeling, it’s sometimes a disappointed feeling though too. One of the reasons I love photography is simply the community around it. Tons of people who are just down to earth and willing to help out. Most other hobbies definitely have their elites that aren’t as approachable. Of course there’s that in this field, but also it feels much easier because there are people just like me doing amazing things; that makes it less daunting to ask someone what they did to make that photograph or what’s their process. It’s a great community to be a part of.

I’ve been shooting digital for 8 years and picked up film when I was gifted my grandfathers old 35mm film camera. Exploring film photography has reinvigorated my love of the process and made me a lot more present in how I create photos and the subjects I choose to capture. Photography is not just an art and form of expression, it’s also a big factor in the beautiful places I’ve been able to visit and admire.

I love film photography because it’s an outlet for me to go outside and take my time to look at things differently in the world with detail. Makes me calm and helps me slow down in the fast paced life we live in

This is where it's at!!! I've been shooting film for the last three years, digital for about 15? but the hunger to quit never stops. Photography for me is poetry, it's communication, it's documenting my history and rewriting my future. Photography has been my ride when I was walking the road alone, and my mirror of who I was and who I was becoming. Absolutely love these videos and this format. Keep killing it 💪🏽

I love photography because it allows me to capture my surroundings and allows me express myself, and my experiences, and my emotions in a way that can be easily resonated with. Growing up in low income housing, and not having many people relate to me or my experiences, photography has given me a outlet to show people a different point of view.

I love photography because it honestly makes me see the world in a completely different way, maybe a more beautiful way, maybe not. All I know is I'm inspired to actually look at the things I see every day in a new way, to slow down and actually notice and observe. I'm also inspired to actually do things, simple things like go outside for a walk or have actual travel locations in mind, it makes getting out more worth it. Not only that but the WL finder of my Mamiya C3 is just so gorgeous and mesmerizing to look at, never ever get tired of it!

I love photography because its a tangible way to freexe time and document your life. Its also great medium to get across emotions and thoughts. I also love your videos because they're unique, fun, and constantly keep evolving. At the core of it you're still able to be creative and still have fun with what you're doing which is awesome to see.

I once heard a drummer friend talk about how most songs just have like a steady beat and you're expected to come up with some nice fills, and that's considered the drummer's "creativity." But real creativity is coming up with beats and patterns that just no one else ever would or could. I think about that whenever I watch your videos, you're just out here making rhythms no one else is even trying. Appreciate it always
