Good idea but a more simpler way is to attach a long pvc pipe to one to the handles, much like mimicking the RBA Deluxe model gripper. That way you don't need to go to your backyard.

Richard Maguire Don't get me wrong. I wasn't saying yours is a bad idea. Yes, with your fix it is easy to close the gripper for doing very high negatives, like RGC 100kg (more than CoC#4) assuming your bodyweight is around 100kg. But drilling holes on the steel Vulcan and attaching chains and walking to the backyard (not everyone has one) is an overkill for many of us. I just wanted to share a simpler idea.
