A few random notes: "Pogranichniki" are Russian border guards, hence the doggo on patrol. "Razvedka" is a generic Russian term for "reconnaissance", and denotes recon units of the Russian army. These guys are likely meant to be a generic fill in for "Voennaa Razvedka" units, or "Recon Scouts", which are attached to various regular Russian military units. You're right about the "N" designation; its use denotes Cold War-era weapons that capable of attaching optics on a dovetail mount. It was originally used to specify night vision sights in particular, like the 1PN51 and 1PN58, but also allowed for non-light enhancement sights like the PSO-4 and USP-1. The Sprut-SD ("Kraken") is an air-mobile self-propelled anti-tank platform that was built for Russian airborne units as a means of countering enemy heavy armor. Essentially, it's a tank destroyer for airborne units. And as it was based off of the BMD-3, it's also amphibious. Like the BMD series, it's also designed to be airdropped with the crew inside to immediately engage enemy armor at the landing zone. Has a bit of a bad reputation after one had an oil leak during a parade and then burst into flames. The "M" denotes a modernized variant with an upgraded optics package. Active protection systems are systems made for tanks that provide countermeasures for explosive rounds and ATGM's. Essentially, they're akin to small cannons or grenade launchers, which intercept enemy rounds by firing projectiles that strike and deflect or destroy incoming rounds. They've been around for a few decades now, with the first being the Soviet-era "Drozd" radar-based active protection system. TOS-2 is a thermobaric rocket system that expels a cloud of flammable material in its strike zone before detonating, creating a massive explosion and a lot of heat and flame damage. Think of it less as a napalm weapon and more a giant airburst munition, because that's what it essentially is. The S-13 rocket is one of a number of unguided rockets developed by the Soviets for heavy anti-armor work. They weren't designed for tanks, but for hardened structures like concrete bunkers, runways, and hardened buildings. They're somewhat analogous to the Zuni rockets used by the U.S military, and are part of a line of similar structure-busting rockets that includes the utterly enormous S-25 you saw on the MiG-23/27's. The ODAB-500 is another kind of thermobaric explosive, this one taking the form of a fuel-air explosive bomb designed to take out hardened structures, clustered soft targets and even minefields. It can be mounted to both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. The KAB-series of bombs are guided munitions, whereas the FAB series are dumbfire bombs. The FAB-9000 is one of the largest conventional aircraft-dropped explosives ever made; a 9,000 kilogram bomb designed to flatten hardened structures and railways. To give you some idea of how enormous this is, Pe-8 long range bombers dropped the predecessor to the FAB-9000, the FAB-5000, during WW2. In one instance, a Pe-8 dropped a FAB-5000 from an altitude of 5,800 meters, and the resulting explosion caused shockwaves which rocked the aircraft. And finally: 52:53 - The most realistic aspect of this game.

Tosocka is just 18 Buratino rockets strapped to restyled Ural truck. Mi-24K has exceptional optics and is able to laser guide some munitions, Il-76's guns are on the very tip of its tale, above the apparel. About bombs: FAB is HE, KAB is guided, RBK is cluster, PBK is bunkerbuster, ZB is napalm, ODAB is thermobaric bomb.

Rgw GSH-23L is a strange Russian weapon that has been in use since the Mig 21 (it was the cannon mount on the Mi 21 and Mig 23). Its a twin barrel 23mm but can only fire one barrel at a time (the recoil of one barrel reloads the other and vice versa) - it generally has a faster rate of fire than a single barrel weapon but no where near as fast as a rotary cannon.

The R-27ET is IR guided and the R-27ER is radar guided. The ER variant has better range than the ET, but the ET won't set off the target's RWR since it isn't radar guided.

The SVDS is a folding stocked SVD intended for use with VDV, marine and mechanized infantry units, also features a heavier barrel but with a shorter, more compact flashhider, it's basicly a more compact SVD

a bit late to the bandwagon, but 2 notes: 1. Completelly skipped BMP-2 upgrades :D 2. Vehicles with same missiles, but if one of those ends in F, that one is thermobaric. So Ataka, Ataka- M, Ataka-F (lets say), one is regular, one is modernised, one is thermobaric.

The gsh-23 gun pods (gun pods in general) and rockets don't use space inside the helicopter. They're self-contained, unlike turrets or [just guns], which store ammunition inside the helicopter.

Russia’s roster is clearly lacking. I didn’t see the “Abomination” or T-62s and 55s. But real talk. Loving what we see so far. Hopefully we see more in the future from this game. Especially with infantry and much later down the line more nations.

They can add some many more nations if they want to. Like warno and wargames to a certain extent are constrained by time frames. There's so many more nations today that are more capable than they was in the 80s and 90s.

Unfortunately this demo disapointed me, I installed it yesterday and the performance was abysmal compared to warno or steel division. In the eugen games I get 54 fps on a large map 10v10 on this demo I get LESS THAN 1 FPS and it uses 13 GB of memory . That is a very very badly made game.

My biggest fear for this game is that they will give you way too many units to manage at once. Warno and Wargame force you to manage regiment- or even brigade-sized units whereas World in Conflict only had you manage a few platoons.

1:27:11 Russia have more than that for the SU-57 . i think right now they have a minimum of 12 active planes and 10 more for tests . the real number is unknown but its still small . reason its number is low is that Russia wanted to negotiate its price first with the company who built it after they deemed it too high and it was until recently that the price dropped by 20% . there is plans for russia to have around 80 before 2028 but in general they are slow with it not because of technical reasons but because its deemed a none necessary investment for now especially that they still have lot of 4.5 gneration planes to work on before caring much about Gen 5 . the plane in general is up to date , for example it have AI , something others like china and france still testing so even if its taking time its still getting upgraded along the way and now its in on 6th variant

My biggest hope is that the Russian vehicles are portrayed accurately but... and maybe it's just because of the demo... but I feel the Americans are a bit "balanced" out to give the Russian units an edge.

@@lodickasvlajeckou A bit. Just look at the demo. Stinger missiles that in real life one-shotted Russian helicopters in Afghanistan and in Ukraine take two hits to down one. Abrams don't one-shot T72s like they do in real life. And it seems the Javeline won't one-shot T72s either.
