I wear a T-shirt it says "Bass - like guitar only cooler" I used to play Lead/Rhythm but some arthritis snuck into my joints so.... I took up bass. Still play almost as fast but not struggling with barr chords. Little finger is frozen and middle finger only bends half way. But hey you make do. I cant complain. Django Reinhardt played incredible lead runs with only two fingers after the rest were wrecked in a fire.

Having just learned the entire song on bass, ironically the "easy" part (those 16s) is actually thee hardest part. Learning the rest took about an hour w the right tutorial but hitting those 16s CLEANLY is hard AF... And I've been playing for longer than i care to admit. Joe Dart is a living legend. Treasure him. Side note: imo, the MSG version of My First Car is very likely the funkiest thing ever written or performed by anyone, anywhere. Ever. If you play bass or guitar, i highly recommend learning as many Vulf songs as you can. Most peeps don't even know who they are so a lot them think they're your songs when you bust em out at shows. Sometimes I'll tell folks it's just some Vulf tunes but other times i just let them think i came up w those BEASTLY basslines! 💪

2:28 INT. MADISON SQUARE GARDEN. NIGHT. Vulfpeck is playing for a packed venue. The audience are in great spirits. CORY WONG is demonstrating his notoriously tight trademarked boneless hand funk strumming technique. He bears a cheeky smile, and looks over in the direction of JOE DART. Off-screen, JOE ascends to funk nirvana on the back of an unbelievably clean bass fill, then quickly returns to Earth for continuity purposes as the camera pans towards him.

The syncopation and layering from the piano and guitars from 2:00 is one of the best things I've ever heard! It makes me feel like I'm ascending to funk heaven.
