The fact that you even got the camera sweeps and the crash zooms down is testament to just how good this VULF cover is.

This was amazing! One of the purest 1 to 1 covers of this song I've seen. If you want that pure Joe sound use flatwounds, I can hear the bite of the roundwound strings. ;)
@dreumad2 жыл бұрын
thank you!! that's totally true, it was a real pain in the ass to have to deal with those scraping noises

I'm a flats guy too but I'm pretty sure Joe uses roundwounds.
@dreumad2 жыл бұрын
@@samchurchward2599 well, I'm not 100% sure what strings he used on dean town, but they released a video a few years back introducing the joe dart signature bass, where he said that the bass comes shipped with "a flatwound string that offers a brightness and a grit that is somewhere between the feeling of a flatwound and a roundwound string". so I guess the joe dart "signature string" is technically more of a flatwound than a roundwound. but I reckon he must be able to use both and get a great tone out of it anyway!

what did you do to get that sound? sounds like it came straight for joe darts fingers, you could play this and i genuinely wouldn't be able to tell if its the original or not (edit typo)
@dreumad2 жыл бұрын
thanks for the compliment! but if you listen closely you will notice the difference. joe dart's playing is much more precise and smooth, and his tone is so much rounder and has the perfect grit to it... I've struggled countless hours to try and emulate that tone... pretty satisfied with the result though, but I have a feeling that jack stratton's signal chain for the bass is way more straightforward than mine!
