If you're a beginner, and are frustrated with your tone, buy an EQ pedal before you buy anything else.

and run it through the effects loop!!!!! i’ve had both old peavey 5150’s (block letter and the ii) and also a 90’s 3 channel dual rec. putting a boss eq-7 in the loop totally changes the amp tone. level at 75%. kind of an m shape. don’t take out all the mids. take out the flub and screeching highs. another eq into the front in the opposite configuration with an inverted V, with mids high and treble and bass lower makes a big difference. and the level set high to push it, with an overdrive and it’s a totally different sounding amp. amazing. an eq through the fx looo can make the difference in an amp sounding like trash or gold

Sounds a lot like dime but it sounds a bit like it has a bit of a fuzz like responce i hear it cutting some stuff a bit but it can be negated by using a stereo rig... love the demo man keep it up!

Hey lamb! I watch your channel since I was like 15 (I'm 23 now), with your Pantera and Metallica covers. I watched your Floyd Rose tutorials dreaming I had a guitar with floating bridge! All these years later, it's amazing to find out you're still doing quality content. Thanks a lot for your hard work!

I almost ordered that Frankie Hill deck when recently buying a new board. Kinda regret not getting it. It was the one I always wanted as a kid skating in the late 80s / early 90s. His segment at the beginning of Powell Peralta's Ban This always got me stoked to get out and skate.

Yeah definitely, he was ahead of his time. True innovator. It’s an awesome board, huge concave and really stiff with loads of pop. Really great reissue

Wow. Beautiful, definitely the closest you can get without an rg-100
@JLE9999 ай бұрын
Seems to get in the ballpark of the general RG tone. But to really get the Dimebag stuff it would need pre-boosting with a parametric eq and a regular eq pedal. I think anyone getting this one pedal expecting it to do the Pantera thing on its own will be disappointed. Alternatively for Crowbar type tones I bet boosting this with a Metal Zone with all its controls at noon and the gain off would also do the trick. Probably would be great for the Pantera tones too since you're getting both the parametric EQ aspect from the Metal Zone along with the gain boost. "In an interview with Guitar World after the release of "Vulgar Display of Power", when asked about his effects he responds, "It’s pretty simple, actually. I run my guitar out into a Furman PQ-4, MXR Blue six-band EQ, into my Rocktron Hush 2-B noise gate, and into the amps. And that’s about it."

@gainmeister45053 жыл бұрын
gotta hit it with a parametric and a 6 band and gate in front. Also to the product makers, dime used century 200 series amps on vulgar not the rg100 that was used on cowboys and gstk

@mayniac5.093 жыл бұрын
meh.. the dime tone was mostly in the furman pq3 and the front end frown eq
@RobertMurphy-wm3ge Жыл бұрын
yeah.... not really. Randall heads and cabs had a VERY unique tone. The 6 band in the front in series with the PQ3/4 did do a lot of tone sculpting but those RG series amps had a growl like no other. If you listen to early White Zombie (Devil Music Vol. 1) you can still hear that tone in Jays playing.

As far as professional guitar playing and as far as the gear goes as it was in Dimes time and till this day its all about sponsorships and marketing. You are right though a lot of the shaping of the sound is tweeked using the EQ
@yasirujayasuriya70263 жыл бұрын
Nice tone! but where you get those guitars from? you have some more exotic brands (Dean) that I am interested in but can find in local music stores. Do you buy them online or do you just have really good music stores in Australia. (I live in New Zealand)
@sebanapo3 жыл бұрын
Bro they're the old school Washburn signature models from the early 2000's before he switched back to Dean. 👊🏽💥💯
@trendkill33333 жыл бұрын
That’s a Washburn Dimebag Signature. They haven’t been in production since the early 2000s before dime went back to Dean in 2004. Only way to get the real ones is to get lucky and find someone selling one. They’re extremely expensive though, even the import models go for upwards of £1-2,000 in good condition. The USA made ones are way way more expensive. The market price for them is ridiculous now because they’re pretty rare

It´s more like a Distortion but bassed on the Dimebag amp?
@JSG-mw4qr2 жыл бұрын
Sounds pretty good, did you try running it straight into the FX return? Just curious. I wonder if you went 6bandEQ>Vulgar>EQFH>FX Return if it might get closer to Dimes tone? Either way it sounds pretty good in front of the amp. 👍
@aryinc3 жыл бұрын
Theres is a more pantera ish tone from the amps itself. Almost always. A distortion through a clean channel with a high output pickup in the guitar almost always sound like fuzz, mudd in the low end. Don't know how satriani and vai did it with the distortion pedals. I asume not high output pickups and let the amp/pedals do the heavy lifting.

Oh Kay Ha ! I had to say that.The thing is, it is just emulating the RG100es, not the complete DIME Rig. Add that ME PQFH Pedal to it and a MXR 6 band in front and then a Doubler/Flange and some Delay and then you are getting somewhere.
