This EQ is something only rack equipment has been capable of. The articulate contour for tone chasing is outstanding and on top of that there's no unwanted noise or distortion at maximum travels. That's my humble opinion anyways.

Yes it does replace it. It’s better in all ways. This is totally quiet through all ranges and the control is cleaner to hear. This behaves more like rack gear and the feel of all the pots is really smooth

I believe Dime ran an EQ in front and boosted the mids and the ran an EQ in the loop and cut the mids. It was something like that, sounds weird but with the solid states he used that was partly how he achieved his sound.

It’ll be awesome through the 6505. Boss katana is a practice amp and nothing more. It does it’s job but I wouldn’t be using one in a serious capacity. That’s just my opinion, I don’t mean to offend anyone

So I made a comment earlier that appears to have been deleted (saying that the EQFH seemed to be a commercialized version of a much cheaper kit), and I have to say good on you LambChopper (assuming I didn't fall prey to a random KZbin auto-deletion). I did a little more research and realized I was totally wrong. The kit I referenced uses all through-hole construction, and I've now seen the EQFH internals, which are clearly all SMD components. It may very well be based on a similar underlying schematic, but the construction is entirely different, and almost certainly a superior design.

I look at wiring and overall neatness in solder joints and parts used in the build. Everything I’ve seen by master effects so far is very good. Appreciate it all the same though mate👍🏻

Ive watched a lot of your videos but never caught if the bird had a name. Also, have you tried comparing a volume pedal in the mesa mark v loop vs the captor x? Ive been happy w the volume pedal route but am interested in the x.

The captor x allows you to drive the power amp section as well as the preamp. It works as a full power soak between your head and cab without any risk of damage. The captor x is one of the best inventions I’ve ever used
