There are lots of Mtb trails in OH. Not sure where you were getting your info. Next time you're in area check Alum Creek, Chestnut Ridge, Dillon, Mohican, Lake Hope, Baileys, AW Marion, Great Seal, Scioto Trails, Strouds Run, Caesar Creek, John Bryan, Camp Tuzcazoar,, Hueston Woods, East Rim. Or even indoor at Ray's or Mike's.

Yeah, being from Western PA, Ohio has a ton of great places to ride. Well worth a drive in my opinion.

Vultures Knob is constructed on old landfill. The owner couldn't do anything with the land so he built MTB trails. It is one of the original legal trail systems in NE Ohio. Started some time around the 90's. It originally was constructed with many wooden features, similar to what you see in British Columbia. Due to rot and maintenance, most of those features were removed. The trail has more of an old school, hand cut, vibe. You missed out on some other great trails in the area. Mohican State Park is an IMBA rated epic with a solid 25 mile loop and around 2,500-3,000' of climbing. Another great trail systems is East Rim in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It was the first mountain bike trail to be constructed in the National Park system. East rim is professionally constructed machine built flow trail. Super fun.

3:04 I have to disagree. Obviously , Ohio is not a mountainous state, but it has a lot of good trail systems that are well maintained (Hampton hills, Mohican, Ray's indoor park, Alum Creek, Chestnut ridge, East rim, Baileys trail system, etc.)

One of the best places to ride! I started riding MTBs on this trail in the 90s and moved from the area in 2003 and still think about this trail and all the races and faces from my time spent there. Some of my favorites were the 24hrs races!
@ToogyHowser2 жыл бұрын
yeah it almost seems forgotten in time! Like it used to be more popular than it is now.

Try Hampton Hills, Austin Badger, Huffman trails , Quail Hollow . Thats all around 40 mins of driving from where you are . There is also a ton more in Columbus and Zanesville

Just did my seven day free trial of Trailforks and found a bunch of trails in Ohio. Not gonna be the huge downhill parks but a lot of cross country type and skills course parks. May have to upgrade to the full version

I started riding at VK recently and agree it feels way longer than 7 miles. Has a no F's given vibe and can be creepy out there by yourself. But it keeps drawing me back for the challenge.
@ToogyHowser2 жыл бұрын
yeah, it does feel a little creepy out there doesn't it??
@kenbeech4940 Жыл бұрын
I like the review! VK seems to bite me in the a$$ everytime I ride it. I have crashed several times in there. None too serious but enough to keep you on your toes. Cleveland Metroparks, Cuyhoga Valley National forest and some other systems have other XC trails for you as well. All are well maintained and monitored.

Just rode here last weekend and oh man was a treat ! Such crazy terrain for Ohio... From my research there are actually a few other trails somewhat nearby. Mohican is a really cool one and I think they just added a new flow trail there and there is also East rim which is a flow/jumpline sort of trail When I came here it was super muddy in early spring I would love to come back in the summer sometime It looks beautiful !

Vultures knob used to be an old land fill. And it’s maintained 100% by volunteers and donations. Vk is my local trail. It’s still 30 minutes away and it’s he rest of the trails are about a hour or more. There are a ton of trails though! If you come back to the area try camp tuscazoar. It’s a Boy Scout camp. Lot of great views and features there!! And look up Mohican state park! There’s some great riding there too! One trail is 26 long!!

You beat me to it! haha I moved to Ohio around a year ago, wasn't sure about the MTB scene. Thankfully there are a couple killer, purpose-built MTB trails around Akron - I bet you'd love 'em! Hampton Hills is my local trail, but East Rim is my favorite so far. If you're still in the area and need a guide, I'd be happy to show you the ropes! Love the channel :)

Nice ride Toogy. That bridge was sketch AF. 😄 Just finished listening to the 'KZbin Noobs' episode that you were a part of on the B1KER BAR podcast. Got your solo episode next in queue. 👍 As far as Ontario goes, (GTA and surrounding area, to be more specific) are there any trails you would recommend to someone who's looking for the nice Flowy ones, kind of like what Matti Active rides on. Cheers!

Not sure who Matti Active is, but have you ridden the Don Valley Trails? They have some nice flow, or the Hydrocut around Kitchener/Waterloo
