Vuyo Mokoena was one of the best Gospel artists in the country, an icon in his own right. He was a brilliant solo artist as well as being one of the main anchors on one of the most celebrated Gospel ensembles in the country, Joyous Celebration. His collaboration with his brother in song, Jabu Hlongwane, on ICULO ELISHA album is still rated as a masterpiece years after it was released.
Although Vuyo Mokoena has passed on, his music will live on forever as there was always a message of hope in each and every song for all who were troubled at heart.
The REMEMBERING VUYO MOKOENA compilation CD and DVD is destined to become one the best compilation project ever released in the country after a long time.
It includes Vuyo Mokoena's own songs from his solo albums such as SISH'UDUMO, THE PSALMIST and Vuyo's last album, AVULEK'AMAZULU, 10 songs from JOYOUS CELEBRATION performed by Vuyo and Jabu Hlongwane, Ntate Nthuse from Jabu and Vuyo's highly successful album titled ICULO ELISHA.
The exclusive special feature on the DVD titled A PRAYER FOR VUYO was shot at a prayer meeting in Tembisa were a prayer session was conducted two weeks before Vuyo passed on.
