TLC decides when an YTL gets called with blue lights but as a rule, blue lights are used everytime theres a stop in the metro. The reasons are many, someone pulls the emergency brake inside the train,someone unauthorized is walking on the tracks, faulty trains and more, the reasons are many. One of the most important one is ofc accidents when someone has been hit by a train, then the ambulance,fire department and police needs someone to guide and help them remove that person under the train in a safe matter. ”Trafikledarna” also enforces the laws and rules that the train operators has to follow and takes care of then when they break them.

Love it ... my fav spot in Stockholm ... Awesome vehicle :O

This seems to be your favorite spot in Stockholm 😄 Nice rare catch! Overall this is a very interesting vehicle! In terms of the flash patterns I think synchronization would be very much needed here but it's interesting that they chose a variety of different patterns too, fast single flash, slow single flash, double/ triple flash, ECE and a split pattern + the lightbar. Definitely an interesting light setup nonetheless! Nice Whelen siren too.

Awesome catch dude! What was the call?

I would guess an accident in the metro or a major malfunction somewhere but there may be a few more reasons too.

Is it something like police?
@Rummeltobi3 жыл бұрын
That's a vehicle from the Stockholm Metro. Public transit companies in other countries have emergency vehicles too. Those usually respond to emergency calls (usually accidents or greater malfunctions) on their property like stations or tracks. Prague Public Transit has a whole fleet of public transit emergency vehicles including their own fire department, cranes and regular emergency cars. Some local public transit companies in the US also have their own police departments. One example is SEPTA Transit Police in Philadelphia.

What siren manufacturer makes the sirens for the police?
@joohnm3 жыл бұрын
For the police it's Standby, for this vehicle it's Whelen.

@@joohnm wait, so standby makes the siren tones?
@joohnm3 жыл бұрын
@@RedHat2023 On the police cars (not this vehicle), I believe Standby made the tones but they make the speaker and everything connected to the siren.
@RedHat20233 жыл бұрын
@@joohnm I know that the lightbar is standby, but what I am confused on is the fact that the martin horn that they use sounds pretty much the same as the martin horn whelen offers. Plus the air/bull horn is a whelen horn too.
@Rummeltobi3 жыл бұрын
@@RedHat2023 That siren may originally be from Whelen but I'm not sure about that. I know it's been on several older Whelen models and they still offer it. Here's a demo of all the currently available sirens with the programmable systems: /watch?v=1NvVjwSnMbw (the martin tone and martin hilo is at 4:54 and at 5:30 again with the Howler).

Nice catch. :) What type of calls do they responde to? (Btw other than PD, FD, Ambulances, MP who else can drive with lights and siren in Sweden? Is Ordningsvaktere now allowed to drive with lights and siren? )
@danicek10693 жыл бұрын
They reapond to urgent situations where the metro in Stockholm has ran into real bad issues. The drivers of these vehicles have to go through same driving course as the police, ambulance and fire department. Public security are not allowed to drive with blue lights and siren.

Many goverment agencys and also other organizations/companys have the right to use blue light vehicles in Sweden, for example: Customs, Coast guard, companies engaged in train/tram transport, some gas companies, some security companies (skyddsvakter), blood/organ transports and some other.
