You're a saviour, watching the video confirmed all the bits I was planning to remove. Didn't use the cable ties though, I bent a couple of metal tent pegs into the right shape and held them together to make a removal tool 😅😅😅 Worked a treat 🤯👍

Nice tip, I am definitely going to try the tent peg variant as my cable ties are breaking. Removing something trivial as coil packs shouldn't involve a wrestling match - useless construction from VW GROUP!!! Thank you very much for the upload!

Yes, many thanks for this video. Just done whole job in under 2 hours for the first time. Removing pipework is key I think...as well as having a cheap £6 copy of the proper VW tool. Coils came out with steady pressure...20 seconds pull. The hardest part was unclipping the coil nearest the charge pipe. The car is 13 years old and has done 79k miles on original plugs...running ok too!

Brilliant, about 9000 mls ago I was able to change 3 of the plugs but couldn't see how to get to 4th, well done you clearly showed how to sort the pipes out. I can now get to the 4th ( When I did the first 3 I realised that life is too short to mess about without the proper tool - only 6 or 7 quid BTW) Thanks very much for the video.

There is a proper coil removal tool that's pretty cheap. Easier on the fingers than the cable ties.
