I’ve seen on the Samba forum where a guy took two racing helmet fans and installed them inline in the the existing defroster tubing and then put a toggle switch under the dash. I guess the fans are the exact same diameter as the tubing. Of coarse this would also depend on getting your diesel heater connected up to the heater channels.

Wolfsburg west sells the 12v wiper motor armature that replaces the 6v one in your bug. You keep everything that you have, just change out the armature.

We were about to go that route, then found a "67 12v two speed on TheSamba. We lucked out!

Holley has a “laser” (like $99) fuel sender that will work with your current fuel gauge. Just cut a hole in your current gas tank and be done.

I’m liking the engine build stuff. I’m considering a 1914 with a larger PICT type carb to keep it looking stock and driving well. I have a very stock but lowered 67 sedan
