I purchased my 68 with 7 inch wide mags and 205 tires that stuck out past the guards, so my first business was to widen the guards by pie-cutting them and welding a 2 inch wide steel strip into the gaps. No one even notices the wide profile until I park next to a stocker!

Nice Thanks!. I have no clue what size or offset on a wheel to get. I assume 8" wide, but I dont know what offset will tuck them up just behind the fender lip? Any suggestions?

@@punchysgarage I don't recall the offset but I think the backspace was 3 inches. I used off road 15x8 wheels on the rear with 225/60/15 BF Goodrich tires. It filled in those fatty fenders perfectly. No rubbing issues either.

great video. those fenders look good on that thing. but you are right you will need wheel spacers or a wider rim.

Well right now just a 185-50. But I'm getting some 245 tires to fit on a 8inch wide wheel in the back

Maybe some curb feelers, fender skirts, mudflaps and top it off with a CB whip antenna and a racoon tail. (fuzzy dice, shag carpeting, Cadillac hubcaps and a psychedelic lace paint job)
