VW Bug Headlight Assembly Upgrade

Hi Everyone, here is a detail video in tearing down a 66 VW Bug headlight. Replacing 6v bulbs to 12v along with gasket.

The original headlights were 6-volt sealed-beams.

That small little blue light bulb, was the an led? Do they make those in 6 volt? And does it stay on, at same time as the headlight is on?

I see this was a year ago, doing the same to my 65 Beetle. Do you by chance have any idea on the parts numbers for the housing and halogen bulb you purchased? Thanks

1:44 Careful ! Don't put the lens on the table like that. It might get scratched. Place a soft cloth on the table first . 12:17 The original bulb was clear incandescent type. Why replace it with blue ? Isn't that against regulations ?

you dont use the small and large spring onthe adjusting screws why not
