VW Bus Camping Monument Peak - Wild Wind!

"I'm excited to share that I'm back on the trail after a 6-month break! On 3/15/24, I went on an off-road adventure in a vintage Volkswagen VW Bus, exploring the San Bernardino Mountains that received a lot of rainfall over the 2023/2024 season. The overnight trip was supposed to last for a few nights, but the weather didn't cooperate, so I had to cut it short. Nonetheless, the Bus and I made it off the mountain safely, and I'm happy to share my story!"

Six-month Vacation. Being diabetic, I fell into a Hypoglycemia state. My blood sugar dropped to a dangerous state. I was in & out of being unconscious. I managed to get a concussion trying to get inside the house. I did take several blows to my head, whiplash, and a broken nose. In six months, my Post Concussion Syndrome subsided, still leaving me with a vocal slur and poor word placement when I talk. But! I'm getting better every week. Verbal exercises are helping. My walking is about 90% on track. It feels good to be outside and in the Bus again. :o)

Thanks, Matt! As soon as I set up my awning, I had to take it down because the wind picked up fast. I sat inside, fell asleep to the wind noise and the shaking of the bus. Also, I wasn't able to do a "Food Channel" portion in this episode. 😁 It was a wild ride atop a mountain, parked with 60 mph winds

Good to see you again! Saw an off road guy air down his tires as he drove. He put on the air down valves set to a certain pressure and drove off with then screwed on and later took them off Saved time.

@@VintageOverlandAdventures I remember back in the day I was off-roading a 1959 15 window. We weren't thinking about what they would go for in today's world. 😁. When I got my 23 window in 1991 it was only a couple of years later I took it on a 6000 mile road trip. That was rad.

@@VintageOverlandAdventures glad you're on the mend bro.....yeah... Westy coming along nicely thanks....put some 215/75 r15 tires on..pushed the suspension up a couple of inches... All the mechanics are done now. Just got a couple of patches on the rear cab floor to weld up, then I can put all the interior back in.... It's hard when you don't have a garage to work in....
