I was impressed. I've never commented, but I've actually been watching your video for 8 years. I'm watching from Japan. Since I was in elementary school 8 years ago, I wanted a bus and started watching your video. After that, I think this bus was completed after a lot of hard work. It's a wonderful car full of that commitment. Actually, I'm 19 years old, but a few days ago I bought a bus with 13 windows that is almost the same color. I want to enjoy bus life from now on. I'm happy to make my dream come true with you. Please continue to enjoy it in the future. Thank you.

Please. Make sure you have new fuel lines and wiring harness. I had a VW Bug catch fire with my ex-wife and my twin daughters and my son in the car. I got them out(They are still fine some 30 odd years later)and pushed the car away from the FUEL PUMP. I could have saved the car, too, but I was so upset I gave it away.

@@clasicradiolover Thank you for your advice. What happened to you was a great disaster, but I'm glad you didn't have anything for your family. Of course, all consumables such as fuel lines and harnesses will be replaced. Fortunately, there is an air-cooled vw specialty store nearby, so I leave all the work related to safety there. I'm also planning to install an automatic fire extinguishing system in case of a fire. Thank you.

Congratulations Mic this was the video I’ve been waiting for, Kona back on the road eating up miles. She did extremely well and who knew that the shifter was the issue all along. Well glad you got that fixed and the upgrade looks nice. And got to say if that was Lori’s first time driving a stick she’s a natural either that or dad’s one helluva teacher LOL. I am restoring an antique truck and I sometimes find it ironic all of the time and effort one puts into restoring a vehicle that was basically just a cheap ride in its day. As a kid my neighbor had a VW bus, and it was the knock around car that could get you to the beach and back. Now it is a prized museum piece that you spend tens of thousands of dollars on to restore. My truck is the same. A 1939 Ford panel truck that was used in a Texas prison for 60 years as a utility vehicle. Now I am prepared to spend far more time and money on it than anyone would have thought it worth back in the day. At some point you don’t want to take it out on the road. All that care and effort, but it’s still a cheap car. And first time in a parking lot someone will ding it. It all seems a bit disproportionate. But as with all hobbies, it is what you make it. BTW, the family farm is beautiful. What a life!
