I wonder if you could use baking soda and super glue to repair the bakelite. It works for guitar nuts and it's super strong.

yea probably But I use layers of J and B weld. it sands like bondo and looks great paints up nice. Also I use POR 15 putty but it does crack again eventually.

some are really really hard. that one was easy CT had a hard one. I have had several like his.

best with j and b weld the epoxy is not really paintable.

@@Mikefngarage Excellent point. Thank you very much. PS-my brother is a wood worker and I have seen him mix a color in the epoxy, but I do not think he ever needed to match a color.
