@@YTDTETV I've back flushed my heater matrix and only a bit of nasty water came out but not as much as it did in this video, heaters still aren't brilliant, would I need a radiator cleaner or something mate? Just watched your latest video too! Is it just a common problem with bkd engines for the pick ups getting blocked? My caddy has an asz, may be something worth checking too?

@@Ndh994 hey bud so yes a coolant flush put in them run for a while would loosen up any crap that’s stuck, as once it’s in the heater matrix it can take a while to get it out. With regards to clogging pick up pipes I think it’s more a case of how often it’s been serviced, if you havnt had any oil pressure issues then just a simple oil flush in the engine and an oil service would clean any crap out rather than having to take the sump off.

Awesome! I have the same issue so I will definitely do this on my mk6 Golf 2.0TDi. I've also been having an issue with the oil temperature over heating. Used to sit at around 92 degrees, now it's rising up towards 118 degrees before I gently nurse the car back home. I've changed the thermostat as this was stuck open (low coolant temp reading) - now stays at 90, changed the secondary water pump as this threw some faults up - cleared fault codes after replacing and fixed, changed the water pump to no avail, changed oil level sensor in sump as I believe this is also the oil temperature sensor?? Radiator was replaced 1-2 years ago, expansion tank and cap replaced because it had a lot of rusty gunk built up but the system when up to temperature had no pressure. I was able to open the tank at operating temperature with only a tiny hiss. Radiator return hose wasn't returning any coolant to expansion tank - found one of the short hose sections was completely blocked with rust so cleared this and now I have coolant returning to tank once again but still don't have pressure and oil temperature still rising. There is no oil in the expansion tank - it's clear, nice and pink. The next thing on my list of things to replace is the oil cooler but I'm wondering whether I could use the hose to try and flush the system to start with like you're doing with the matrix? If so then what's the safest method?

Subbed Thats a VERY GOOD video and explained very well The better half has a 2014 Seat Leon ST and the heating is shocking and fierce slow to warm up even when driving could take 10 - 15 mins to warm up and I have a 2015 Peugeot Partner (van) and is warm after about 5 mins of Eating Road, so Ill definitely have a go at this Thank You

I had to do this to my Corsa C before, it was extremely thick black for a long time both top and bottom, hell of a difference with the heaters after that

Another great practical video! Is the top heater pipe the best place to bleed the cooling system of air in a Caddy after it has been empty? I've had the system empty with radiator out etc and seem to be having trouble getting all the air out.

Hey bud thank you for the comment and sorry for the delay, yes you can leave the top heater pipe slightly off till the water comes out then clip on, also if you just give it some beams down the road it should push the air out anyway.

@@YTDTETV Just had a good used 2.0 Sdi engine fitted as old one was to worn out. Went out longer drive does get hot but on short drives heater is cold worm.

Funny you say as my mk4 anniversary is hot right away, now I know what the coolant pre-heat is all about on the pd150. Every day is a school day lol!

@@Lea2kcaddy happy days 👍 it made a good difference on mine, you could do it again after doing a few miles as even know the water runs clear the rusty brown solution is well stuck in the little fins in the heater matrix. I see a lot of posts on the internet people saying about deleting the egr cooler and I say just leave it in place and blank the egr as the egr coolers do heat the water quicker in the colder temps.

Great video , will this work on the windscreen demister ? My windscreen seems to have condensation on the inside when its cold and with heater on full on the windscreen its very slow and luke warm (not hot) tia

Nice vid 👍 the top pipe you pulled off to release any trapped air - does it have to be the inlet or the outlet pipe for the matrix? or doesn't it matter as long it's the top (highest) hose that is loosened

Hey bud thank you 👍 coolant is antifreeze, I only lost a tiny bit of coolant so I just topped back up with water as there was plenty of antifreeze in the system. Does that help?

Hello mate I only needed to top up with half a litre you don’t lose a lot when removing the pipes 👍 it wasn’t to hard you should be ok. The tricky bit is getting the pipes off make sure you clip is all the way over and just keep wiggling left to right while pulling and they will come off 👍

So I left the top matrix pipe slightly loose while re filling the bottle, that pushed the air out then when coolant started coming out I pushed the pipe all the way on. Hope that helps

Hey Ryan they do take a wiggle, lots of left to right up and down it should come off, put some grease on the end before re fitting and it will go on easy.
