Love the idea of using the shower room as a clothes dryer. I suspect of you put a fan in there, it would be effective as well. Now all you need is pedestal washer.

Well done on your build, looks fantastic. This is the exact layout I am planning with electric bed. I do want to make the shower area a little bigger iif possible,I like the idea of sleeping in parallel to the van which saves space.

No not yet. The services etc are heavy but we have done our best with lightweight materials. We don’t clad the interior with struts and panelling etc which a lot of vans have so 🤞🏻 hopefully it’s all ok.

I used all aluminium sheet for the cupboards, drawers and folded for studs and posts. Unbelievable weight saving. All the aluminium can be covered in wrap create very attractive decor

Hello, What a fantastic job you have done, absolutely awesome! It would be great if you could present a simple sketch with measurements. A measuring chain from all major details such as driver's seats, table, passenger seat, shower and bed. How much, approximately, did your conversion cost? Thank you David! Wow you are from Varberg and we were there in December 2017 in our very first camper! We loved it there. We can do some measuring and make a rough plan. The cost... 😂 Hmm maybe worrying is good! Materials alone around £25k. I wouldn’t want to cost up the hours of time 🤣

Bravo for your layout, I had imagined this arrangement with an electric bed. While looking for the electric bed, I found your great video that I can think of is possible. It only remains for me to find all the material before starting the work, but some materials are more difficult to find. Could you tell me where you found the electric blinds please? What difficulties did you encounter to install them? Do you have a blog with the list of materials used?

Thank you very much 😁 It's been a lot of work but soooo worth it, we are just on out way back from the outer Hebrides and the rear lounge is a blessing, so comfortable and best place to enjoy the views. The blinds are made by Somfy, cost about £100 each but last about 1 year on a full charge. Many places sell them world wide, many finishes. You do have to cut the brackets a little which can be fiddley but not terribley difficult. Any other info you need just ask as we don't have a list but happy to help.

Thank you very much. It really works for us and gives plenty of flexibility. The shower door takes up so little space, the door itself is a piece of 10mm Opal acrylic, which basically means you can use a glass sliding system, the one we bought is called Mantion, cost about £95 with aluminium guide rail, works really well and locks into place.

Hi Renee We bought them from B&Q in the UK, there are various other items they do, they are great and never fall off. I’m not sure who makes them but I’m sure if you were to google them you’d find them for sale online.

Nicely done. But be careful with the knives. If you have a collision, they will fly around!! And perhaps hurt you....do you have a dealer for the electric bed??

Nice van!I'm sure you'll have a great time in it! How do you find getting up into the bed? I'm wondering for my own build if it would be worth putting a step in somehow. Also how are you finding the mattress as I assume you had to go thin to get your head clearance below.

Thank you! Yes we love it. We step on the seat below and hop up which is easy. Our mattress is 100mm. The ceiling sits a bit lower there with the bedding up too too, but it’s no problem as it’s a seating area mainly

Hi, where do your rear door check straps go when the back doors are closed please? Do they go behind the cushions into a gap behind the cushions? Also, where are your magnetic splash back in the kitchen and shower panelling from please? Thanks so much 😁

Hi The rear door stays have been reversed, but then you need to reduce them in length by 50mm. The arm of the stay sits flat against the door panel, works really well. Magnetic bits from B&Q, shower panels are made by Aqua panel.

Hi Ian We are just doing a 3 week trip of Scotland, the first time we have done a longer trip and see how the space and storage works, it’s been fantastic. Careful consideration was given to the storage as part of the design, everything that could be mounted underneath is mounted underneath. If you see our earlier videos we’ve also made really good use of the voids in the side of the van. Once everything is packed nothing is on show at all (except roof rack) which keeps it feeling very spacious inside, specially for a MWB. We took; - 6 kitesurf kites - bars, harnesses etc - wetsuits etc - stand up paddle board - inflatable kayak and oars - Surfboard - 2 kite boards - 2 pumps - fishing gear - 2 chairs and a table - food - 3 weeks clothes/coats - BBQ/coals - Games - Electronics/drone etc You could comfortably have a family of 4 with enough storage.

Hi Matt 😂😂 the million dollar question, not cheap that’s for sure. We have built it as a high end conversion and spent about 28k just on materials, appliances and fittings, many items being made bespoke. I’ve not finalised the labour yet but def 80 days worth of labour, then calculate all the research and design 😂😂 Although, now I’ve done 1 the next would be easier 😉

Hey Christine The bed was just under a £1000, arrived in a few weeks. It works so well for us. Just driving back from the outer Hebrides and we could not do without the comfy rear lounge and opening the back doors to the view and let the sun flood in.

What is the size of the lower bed, when in use as a 2nd bed? Got a feeling it'll be too small for our kids (have a tall son - 5'11").

Hi Carl The lower bed is approx 5’10, if you only have 1 son it's easy to sleep at a slight angle, I'm 5’9” and it's no issue even with 2 of us it it. The lift bed just about gets 6’2” We only have 1 pod but you could fit 2.
