Anyone working on engines over the years will have installed something ass-backwards. No exception here. I've been there - got the t-shirt. 😁 The flat battery problem haunted me the other day, when my rig's juice cube was flatter than day-old Coke. I then tried the positive cable connect in the engine compartment and some chassis ground for my powerbank. No dice. The resistance on those connections is just enormous. Removed the trim, floor mat and battery cover, hooked the powerbank on and ca-ching - no problem. (I use a Gooloo 4000S) Tip: I keep one of those screwdrivers with the bit compartment (and the proper Torx bits) in the bag with the powerbank - saves me the runaround when I need to boost the van...

Me too mines still leaking be two years this winter 😢 but I can’t fit the part because I don’t know what to do 😢 if I can find an honest garage il be happy but they want ridiculous money and order all the parts again 😢

Starter Battery shouldn't go flat all the time 🤔 trouble is every time it goes flat it damages the battery, I'd be fitting a dedicated solar panel and cc for the starter battery if it's just going flat cos of lack of use?

First time it's gone flat in ages ant that only because I left the lights on, the battery is 8 years old the SOH last year was at 60% so I expect it will be less than that now, I've bought a new one this week as for lack of use it's used every week

Why don’t you use the red jump start positive connector under the bonnet to jump start?

I wanted to get a good connection so I went directly to the battery, I put the charger on there as well

That connection along with some chassis ground has way too much resistance to be useful.

Mate are cam shafts a problem on these engine like the old ones
