Straight to the wheel alignment shop then, to fix the position of that ball joint properly in the slots in the wishbone, though you can often just use the old witness marks, or a quick spray of paint before removal, to get it close to correct. One of the quicker suspension parts to change on a Golf, and pretty cheap as well, most expensive thing is the labour, so change both sides at the same time, as then you only have to pay still for the 1 hour of labour, and only 1 wheel alignment.

Not necessary he didn't to tie rod ends. This Golf was done correct and doesn't need a wheel alignment.

Hi Sean, thanks for your insights, as it is always good to have the wheel alignment checked/adjusted, it is not really necessary in this case unless it is due.
