I not totally sure I understand what you mean by “2 circuits system” but you cannot put any trust in how a modern VW group temperature gauge displays, you need to observe the value of the temperature sender in the measuring blocks of the instruments. The gauge is programmed to show 90 degrees as quickly and as long as possible; I have watched this happen using VCDS and the gauge reads 90 at a real 77 and STILL reads 90 at 116… then the gauge shoots up to maximum. This is what causes people to believe they have rapid overheating when in reality it is very gradual. For what you are seeing it could be a faulty temperature sender, faulty instrument panel, failed intercooler pump, failed heater support pump or the variable displacement mechanical water pump although these usually stick in the closed position causing the rapid overheating people see, we had two 1.6TDI MQB platform cars yesterday both suffering water pump displacement ring failure but again, this caused overheating. You need to start with a fault code read of the engine address 01 and instruments address 17 to see if anything relevant is stored and then study the temperature value in measuring blocks in both addresses to see if it behaves in the same way as the gauge.

On my golf 5 I enter diagnostics mode on my climatronic by pressing the AC and flaps button, parameter 19.2 you can see real temperature of the water. The car Gauge moves from 50c and reaches to 90c quickly but in in reality water is at 70c. Later it gets to 92, and it variates from 92 to 96. while the car gauge shows 90.

Two circuits = cylinder head and block have own thermostats. But in this engine is vacuum valves and its also possible to connect these two circuits together. I don´t know so well this engine cooling system structure but something like that. And all of this only for emissions and fuel efficiency. And there is also electric water pump and with timing belt is also main water pump what can be switched off.

Typical diesel. Here in the states, we put cardboard over the radiator so that it heats up faster.

Hello can you do a video about ignition keyless for golf 7? I’ve change the start engine, battery and fuses too but the ignition not working. It’s curious because the discover media, lights and virtual cockpit are working but not the start engine button… thanks you
