Just going to buy one pre configured with DSG. Firstly I was into Ford ST, or Cupra 300, but got a really nice discount and payment terms for GTI. The car fits everywhere, from business to a race track. Maybe not the fastest but overal, more impresive than the competition imo.

Great review, thank you. I have a Golf GTI PP on order now with 7 speed DSG and DCC. Many of your thoughts mirrored my own in considering what to spec on this car. I now feel even more comfortable with my choices. I passed on the biggest infotainment screen with gesture and stuck with the still excellent 8 inch option with physical volume button, saving myself £1300 in the UK on this option. I would love to have had side scan (agree it should be standard) but in the UK it only comes with all the other assistances adding another £1300 as an option, so I passed on this also. The car does come with ACC, front assist, city emergency breaking etc as standard anyway. I don't need lane assist etc on top. Super excited to take delivery before year end hopefully. WLTP has delayed production of everything unfortunately. Spec'd mine in indium grey metallic. Red accents look great against grey paintwork. Thanks again. Good job on the review.

I was driving VW Golf VI GTI 3 years ago, after that I bought Mercedes C200 4matic W205( I don't know why, because this car is so boring and it annoys me a lot right now) ...but.. I decided to back again to Golf VII Performance.. I bought it today from VW sale. I'm so happy again :D Btw... Thank's for very good review of this car !

Super gemachtes Review, ohne Rumgestotter und in m.E. .perfektem Englisch. Daumen hoch ! Dass das DSG effizienter ist, kann ich leider nicht bestätigen. +0,5l , bei viel Stadtanteil noch mehr. Die Hydraulikpumpe will versorgt werden, das gibt es nicht geschenkt. Habe nach ausgiebiger Probefahrt u.a. deshalb den Handschalter bestellt.

Amazing review. Thanks a lot. I picked up mine two weeks ago and i cant agree with you more👍. I have manual - absolutely no regret💪. White oryx plus roof window. It looks really Good. The car fully satisfies me. You can drive comfortably having family on or drive crazy being alone. Awesome. There is only one minor thing which could be improved. But u noticed it. It's the position of gear stick. In forth gear looks like neutral. All the rest is great. Ps. Never before have i seen a better review of gti and trust me i've seen so many😰. Good luck

Golf is for sure a better and moder car at least for the money (BMW platform is from 2011). If I would look for the daily driver, I would take THE Golf. But in my case i decided to get a m135i. I bougth it not beacuse of ADAS Systems and moder HUD, i bought it only because of RWD, and the engine. If u coampre bmw 120d and gold GTD, golf is the better car. In case if u want the hot hatch and your focus is on having fun, bmw m135i/140 in my opinion is a better choice.

Probably a more sensible and joyful choice compared to a Golf R or Audi S3. However isn't this about the Golf GTI? Is the M140i actually a competitor? It's not. The boring 125i is, and it's still more expensive than the GTI.

hi car mania dude! :)erstmal: geile review von dem gti performance.. hab jetzt so ziemlich alle durch :D ! ich schlag mich jetzt seit dezember mit der frage rum, ob es eben der von dir geteste gti performance werden soll oder ein S3. da ich im gti p das bessere preisleistungsverhältnis sehe, wirds nur dieser.zu meinen fragen: 1) wenn ich das acc wähle, kommt dann dieser schwarze „kasten“ wie beim alten gti unter das nummernschild, der die ganze optik der frontschürze zerstört? 2) ich bin am hin und herüberlegen, ob manuell oder dsg. klar, im stadtverkehr ist automatik sehr angenehm, aber hab ich mit den schaltwippen das auto auch so „in meiner hand“? was mich verwundert und mich daher eher für das dsg stimmt: geht bei manueller schaltung wirklich dieses nachpuffen der endrohre verloren?? das ist für mich nämlich ein großer aspekt, den ich nicht missen will! #goosebumpsondanke schonmal :)

Alex V Hi Alex! Erst mal vielen Dank! Also ja - du hast beim Acc den Kasten vorne dran.. Das ist halt der Radar.. und das Husten aus dem Auspuff kommt eigentlich nur beim DSG zustande - aber auch da beim Facelift eher weniger... Also ich glaube ich würde Automatik nehmen...

Dass mit dem Nachpuffen liegt am 7 Gang DSG meiner Meinung nach, der GTI ohne dass Performance Pack hat noch dass 6 Gang DSG und der ploppt öfter mal.

Moin Alex, nein, der Facelift GTI hat den Kasten für das ACC nicht mehr im Grill - das/der? Radar ist nun im VW Emblem verbaut - doof wenn man die Front cleanen will, allerdings sehr geil, wenn man dieses blöde Loch im Grill nicht mehr haben will. Ich habe auch das 7 Gang DSG - bei mir ploppt es leider gar nicht, nur wenn in den ersten Gängen mal die Traktion ausbleibt. (Vielleicht mache ich ja auch was falsch). Viele Grüße

Puuuh thats difficult.. The Seat is really a lot faster and crunchier. But the Golf looks better and is a lot more luxurious.. So Golf R or if I have to choose between GTI and Cupra 300 I can´t answer... :-( Sehe grad - bist ja Deutscher :-)

Hallo, ja ich überlege ob ich (nächstes Jahr) den GTI PP behalte, oder ob ich den verkaufe und einen Cupra hole. Ich kann mich nicht entscheiden ;-) Oder ich warte noch was der neue Megane RS bringt.... und fahre derweil weiter GTI :-)

Bin den Cupra 300 jetzt ein Jahr gefahren und er wird nun durch einen GTI Performance ersetzt, da er einfach der bessere Allrounder ist.

Hmm.. If you are looking for performance and speed, the Cupra. It´s really a lot faster than the Golf GTI. But if options and interior looks are more important than it´s definately the Golf!!

Car Mania yeah thats point 245hp is enough for me and with a race Chip it would be About 300hp so the Same to the cupra and the gti is the bigger Name in my eyes but gtis are everywhere the cupra Not that much so i cant decide it yet but by the way nice Videos 👍

Ps: but i dont think it is that much faster it is only 1 - 1,5 Sec to the cupra and the interior of the cupra is good to with the alcantara and race seats and is a Bit more expensive than the Golf but looks a Bit cheaper in the end

Sicher eines der besseren Videos zum Thema, wobei das Niveau sonst aber leider auch ziemlich unterirdisch ist. Aber ab und zu erliegt man auch mal einem Placebo. Die Lenkung ist im Profil Eco nicht leichtgängiger als in Normal. Das Kennfeld ist exakt dasselbe, denn es gibt effektiv nur zwei - Normal und Sport. Und der DSG-Furzerei hätte man auch nicht unbedingt einen dermaßen breiten Raum einräumen müssen. Ansonsten alles sehr ok. Sogar dein Englisch ist sehr brauchbar, ganz im Gegensatz zu den meisten Mitbewerbern. Übrigens, für mich den Handschalter bitte. Die Position des Schalthebels ist übrigens Einstellungssache. Ja, wie man's einstellt, nicht welche "Einstellungen" man selbst besitzt.

Auch wenn ich mich nun etwas fühle, wie nach einer abgegebenen Hausaufgabe die bewertet wurde :-) Und ich bin mir auch nicht sicher, ob es ein Kompliment ist, eines der besseren Videos zwischen den schlechten zu sein... Die Lenkung hat sich by the way wirklich weicher angefühlt. Alles in allem ist leider so ein Video als Zuschauer immer ein "Konsumprodukt". Da ist es etwas schade, wenn manche die Qualität bewerten, wie als wenn man ein Abo dafür zahlen müsste, es zu sehen.. vor allem in Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass ich selber filme, moderiere, schneide, Musik aussuche und produziere.. ohne "Team" - was aber viele meiner Mitbewerber haben. Und was das Englisch angeht: ich hoffe doch, dass es "einigermaßen brauchbar" ist, nachdem ich Muttersprachler bin...

Ich hole in 4 Tagen meinen GTI Performance ab und vor der Bestellung, habe ich einige Videos angesehen, um mir eine Meinung zu bilden, ob GTI oder GTI Performance. Nun schaue ich, weil ich es kaum erwarten kann. Heute fand ich dein Video und es hat alle meine Fragen beantwortet und es ist ganz sicher das Beste. Danke dafür.
