POV test drive video of the 2018 VW Golf GTD 2.0 TDI DSG-7. The 2018 VW Golf GTD has a 1.968 cc diesel engine that delivers 184 hp and 380 Nm of max. torque. The VW Golf GTD goes from 0-100 km/h in 7,4 sec. and it has a top speed of 230 km/h. The VW Golf GTD has a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

The VW Golf MK7. The greatest compact vehicle ever designed. Attractive, stylish, comfortable, great build quality, extremely practical, spacious, efficient, fun to drive. Incredibly well-rounded and balanced in every way. Far superior inside and out to the subpar Golf MK8. And the GTD is definitely the best version of the MK7. Especially since this is the refreshed MK7 (Golf 7.5) with the updated infotainment system. Even though I personally prefer the analog-digital gauge cluster of the pre-refresh MK7 to the fully digital. This would truly be the ultimate dream car for me. Sadly, the GTD was never sold in North America, even during the era when TDIs were sold. So you can't even get one used in North America.

Hy guys. I bought GTD 2019 with max. equipment. I cant believe that new GTD doesnt have sport sound in sport mode like older version of GTD 2014. Can you make a video with modes sport and normal that we can hear sound of car? Thank you.

Gtd's are a great all rounder. Brim to brim calculations for me are 50-53 mpg.

kan die motor dat wel aan aangezien het maar een 2 liter is? want ik wil wellicht ook een gtd aanschaffen en chiptunen alleen de bedrijven die ik bezocht konden niet meer bieden dan max 225 pk.

@@CiroDiMaRzio12304 dan ga je niet bij de juiste tuner, wegblijven daar, gewoon de dpf weghalen geeft je nog dat extra vermogen en een k&n drop in filter

@@CiroDiMaRzio12304 de cilinder inhoudt geeft niet weer of een blok iets aankan ofni, wel de dikte van de cilinderwand bv, de cilinderkop ect, tegenwoordig zijn die 2l blokjes bulletproof omdat er zoveel onderzoek gedaan word omdat alles tegenwoordig een 2l is, merc a45 amg 2l, hyundai i30n 2l, 135i 2l, golf r 2l, gti 2l, ect ect ect, tegenwoordig zijn die blokjes ook al vaak gesmeed vanuit de fabriek, de grote fout die mensen maken is omdat de wagen getuned is ze de neiging hebben om er van het begin tot het einde kot open mee te rijden en dan gaat alles kapot. Als je een goeie tuner hebt die een mapping op maat van je motor maakt en weet wat ie doet, je de wagen altijd mooi warm rijd en dat vemogen niet heel de tijd aanspreekt is er geen probleem. Ik had bv een e39 530d die 252pk en 600nm had met grotere turbo en intercooler, had 300000km, nooit problemen mee gehad.

The GTD is 184ps which is actually 181hp. Also no start/stop on this car? Turn key start? 😬

Chris McMahon Yes, verry good idea. You know why? So car thefts, can not copy your key signal, when the key is in house and copie the signal to a clone, so they can steal your car in 4 seconds. If you have start/stop, then put your key in steel can, so they can not copy the signal! Be clever.

Pagga van Slaan my query is because I’m sure all the latest UK GTD’s have keyless entry, start/stop etc etc- I appreciate the security reasoning you mention but a key start is very old hat on a new car

Chris McMahon You are right. If you not ask for key start, then the new standard is keyless entry. But i live in the Netherlands, and here now the insurrant agencies offer a ammount refund if you have key start. The reason is, giving car thefts a hard time on stealing. You maybe could say, old hat on a new car, but if i must choose, i would go also for the car start. I have keyless entry, but if i buy again a car, it must be key start.

Keyless start and stop/start are two completely different things. Stop/start shuts the engine off when you come to a stop and starts it up again when you want to drive off again. (6:46). Keyless entry is what the name suggests.

I drive a GTD by myself with manual gear. My consumption on my daily commute is 5,8 Liter/100km, but I drive most time with low rpm. Driving with the automatic in Sportmode like this, will easily consume over 7 Liter/100 km.

urbi3006 account Golf GTD max power at 3500 rpm, max torque at 1750 rpm. Auf Deutsch maximales Drehmoment ist bei 1750 U/min und das zählt beim Diesel dumbass

Has an after-run pump, will keep circulating coolant around the turbo and engine for 10 minutes after shut off.

Manual are alot better then these dsg tans which fail often and are expensive to maintain they might be fun to drive as the car is new but once these cars get 5 years old then they show issues and expenses and failier, so buy a manual its cheap to maintain and gives better mpg, and car last much longer and holds value more then dsg trans, look at Mk4 or mk5 dsg golf those are mostly selling so cheap because most of them have gearbox issues were else manuals are the ones higher prices and better selling the dsg's

@Vendetta 187 mate , you do manaul trans often becaue people like to maintan them were else dsg are trash ones they breakdown no one wants to repair them so usually people eiter sell cars for cheap or junk them, and also the manuals are fun to drive hence people want them to keep running, cars with dsg aint relible as manual, ask anyone they say the same, and talking about gtrs and lambos those are sports cars they hardly get over 50k miles mostly they are parked in garage and driven maybe once a month, and not everyone owns them any ways, and dsg trans might last better then cvt trans, but not much better then manuals so get your info right, i don't your trans guy or car guy but you don't have clue you'll see so many vw's with dsg trans for sale that say gearbox issue in the description hence the price is low.

@Vendetta 187 and you're talking about selling your mk6 over 1800 then the manual version, thats bull shit manaul are more then dsg have look online mate. look at manuals they are up for 6k to 10k or even more, mk5 gt models sell for like 4k -5k prices, do your research before you talk crap. And mk6 dsg sell for like 5k to 7k alot less then manuals.

This is far too underpowered, the Golf GTD needs the passats BiTdi 240hp diesel engine. For the price, GTD is way over priced and over hyped, BMW 120d is Much better option, faster, cheaper and RWD.

Mr Carson doesn’t mean the vw is not underpowered. It is very underpowered I can get 198hp from the 2.0 Di-D motor in the lancer stage 1 makes 168flywheel stock... and literally costs £2.5K for the car

Well true, thats why I chip tuned my gtd to 220hp, now I think it’s perfect. Before it was top slow indeed
