This exact car was actually sold in the US as the Jetta Wagon, it was the same thing as the Golf Variant but with the front fascia of the Jetta/Bora. I would love to find one, especially with a 1.9 TDI and manual transmission.

In Germany you can still find those - they are called Bora Variant. I actually like the Bora fascia much more. I have a 1.9TDI manual myself and it's a great car!
