I own a mk7 golf r estate, I bought him back in 2016 and the first thing I did was removing the Dynaudio stereo (Europe) and put in my old stereo from years ago. I recoded the control unit with vcds to the stock stereo so I can grab high lvl lines for my Helix dsp. He goes to my Soundstream ref 800.4, ref 160s (3way active) and to the Mosconi AS 200.2 (Sub). Every day I get in my car and no matter how shit my day at work was, as soon as I enter it and can listen to my tracks on the way home, all is gone in a few seconds. A good stereo is a great investment 😂

Hey bud where is the line out coming from? The head unit? I have dynaudio factory amp and speakers just wondering what's the best signal to take from keeping factory head unit I'm in a 2020 golf r. I will probably go separate DSP cos sounds like you have to. But like you said I gotta keep factory head unit. 😊

Nice video & install! Very thorough! Interested in what decides whether to do an Audison/Hertz or JL install? I l ike the AK source - myself, I’m using a Kann Max into a B-Con (LDAC) - thinking of using optical SPDIF like you are (bit perfect), but installer probably won’t be able to do printed dock like you’ve designed and manufactured. 👍

Hi George. Nothing, really. We were asked to try the kit to see what we think. We tend to fit what's right for the job, not necessarily matching brands etc, it's about what works for us and the client rather than the supplier.

I have a pretty simmilar project, my doubt is how jump the dyn audio sound system the car have, I been looking for the right intergace to make the upgrade tu a full JL audio system just like this

I have watched many of your installs and I enjoy the level of detail you put into each build. I noticed most talk about how they ran their power and speaker cables, never really mention their ground point which is a very important to have a solid point. What is your best location for amp grounding in this MK7.5?

Oooh, that's in the next video which is already shot but not edited. Rear slam panel for me in this one. Best practice is back to the battery but this topic is hotly debated!

Hi awsome work! U have inspired me to fit some front an rear speakers 😂. does the mk7.5 have separate components in the rear also as standard? As some say its a coax and nothing is behind the rear tweeter grill but looking at your video it looks like a standard woofer? Im looking to change my rear speakers to some jl's and no where has any info or vids on rears just front front front and all 5 doors where as mine is a 3 door like yours.

Mine had midbass and tweeters. We swapped out for coax.

Amazing! JL also makes an 800/8i. Did you go with the 400/4i because you already had the 600/6i, or do the front mids really need that much more power? I was thinking 800/8i + 1000/1i in my mk7, but maybe your solution with less on the sub and more in the doors is more important? Thanks!

I've dropped you and email Billy. If this were a client system, the complete job from video 5 could be expected to cost £15,000-£20,000. We do systems of this size regularly, however, we also build systems that cost far less for those that don't want to go to this sort of level.
