I Found it easier to remove wheel liner and wheel giving you more room to work just replace my wing after someone doing a hit and ru on my 7.5 golf

Thanks for watching Tim. Yes I decided that the wheel should come off until I discovered the locking nut was missing...(another £23 and 24 hour wait). I have a small repair to do on the driver side wing so I'll take the wheel off as you suggest. I receive a replacement bonnet this week so the front end is slowly coming together. Another video soon. G'day mate, did you ever figure out how to modify that spacer? Mine has a much larger foam runs behind the liner at back of the wheel. Much larger foam padding that I recall runs up say straight from those 2 bottom panel bolts but not sure how it's supposed to seat. I broke the cardinal rule of the DIY by taking it all apart no pics and leaving it months (even tho had reason) ... lol

Hi Jim thanks for watching. On the second wing I just cut a hole in the black thing (draught/water proofing panel?) and when the wing was bolted up reinstalled the small cutout with silicone...The gray foam thing that separates the wing from the arch liner (and caused rusting in MK7 Golfs) probably only selves to deaden noise and vibration.
