Our Mk 7.5R (Stock Exhaust) has a lot of better sound than the R in the Video... on the Launch control at the Stock R you released the Brake too early thats why the RPM drops down.

I love the sound of acrapovic, it sound so much better than stock, also in UK you probably dot have to tell the insurance as you can get it optional extra from the factory. I don’t what to say about the DSG farts 💨 they are amazing

Wait... when did VW get rid of the DSG farts? Its always been a bit of a love/hate relationship with me and the DSG fart. I didnt like the long ones where it litteraly takes a second of farting before the gear is in but the short, popping DSG shifts are pure automotive porn.

Dsg farts are only there when you shift manually at WOT or if you are part throttle in D/S. When you are at WOT in D/S it will flat shift ie does not cut ignition/fuel thus no farts. Occurs in both on old RS4 (V8 7spd DSG) and my Golf R

The DSG farts are there when you have the car in sport mode but he's using launch control so it's much quicker gear changes.

A Res delete makes a big difference. If you don't mind droning then use VCDS to ensure both exhaust flaps remain permanently open (to use all 4 pipes). Lastly but most importantly - turn the stupid sound actuator right down or disconnect it!!

One is too little too silent the other is too farty and sounds annoying on launch. Id take something inbetween these two. A bit louder and rumbling. burbly sound but not too much and too ear scathing. The pops and bangs are all the hit lately and people have gone crazy overboard. I want pops and crackles that are rare, that I have to WORK for them and only I know where I have to let go off the throttle at what rpm to get it to bang and crackle. But folks today.... have exhausts that crackle just closing the door ffs.

Audi will not give their 2,5L 5 cylinder to VW. Rumours say that VW are building a new 3.0L VR6 BiTurbo engine. If we are lucky there will be a special model for the Golf R with this engine. But maybe the engine will only come with the Arteon model... we will see later this year ;)

The farts are not there with Launch Control. Because of the Power, More farts, less power. If u start without Launch Control Program they are there :)

Patrick Dürr true, I had a golf 6 GTI with 300 hp and a custom exhaust, and when I was driving in sport modus it doesnt had the farts because it was shifting at 6500 rpm. When I was shifting manually around the 4000/5000 rpm I was getting loud farts

@AutoTopNL... I am trying to understand the major advantage to changing out the stock exhaust to a custom one. Akrapovic or Cobra or whichever decent custom exhaust. The only advantage I see so far is the noise sounds better on the custom. What about performance or fuel efficiency?

The akrapovic is a optional extra from factory and according to akra it makes 314hp rather than 296

Why do people think that it's possible to get a good sound out of 4 Zylinder? It's OK but if the sound is important you need to buy 5 or 6 Zylinder cars. Even my 6 Zylinder 330d sounds better with an exhaust of the 335
