VW ID BUZZ - electric flower power - should you bother?

If you had to pick a large electric family car - would you consider this ID.Buzz?

There comes a time when your children are flying out of the nest. Then you might have to take care for your older parents or even grandparents (wheelchair etc.). So yes, I would take an ID Buzz rather than a sporty SUV.

I would, but at that price it is out of reach for me. It starts at €66,000 whereas a Model Y starts at €47,000 in Ireland. Can't believe they still have the sliders for the temperature controls. I hope that tow bar wasn't the reason for the bandages. That's a sore partof the leg to hurt.😮

I love the style of the Buzz but the range would still be an issue for me without the possibility of 7KW home charging. But I guess there is another upside to the flat load bay. You can have a little nap in the back while it charges at a public charge point. Be careful though if you choose to sleep with ... eh err.. a companion as with this car attracting attention you might get more views from your 'snooze' than you want. That may well end up with the Buzz being a temporary residence depending on your circumstances. If VW bin the sliders at some point in the future I'd consider one but I don't want my teeth in a tree turning to turn up the heating. Bring back the knobs and buttons VW. Production and editing is class leading for a car review channel. Keep up the great work Anna.

I doubt it. I would strongly advise against getting any electric in those extreme temperatures. Then again, in Norway, they somehow manage. But it's a much smaller country with a solid charging infrastructure.

Witam Cię Aniu 👋🙂👍 Kiedy te auta zaczęły pojawiać się na drogach , za nic nie podobały mi się 🤷‍♂️ , z czasem gdy zaczeły wychodzić w różnych paletach kolorów jakoś zmieniłem zdanie. Bryła ID. Buzz-a podoba mi się, mimo tego że to już nie jest ten stary poczciwy VAG. Z pewnością to auto ma dwa minusy : 1- to ten na akumulatorze😉😂 , a 2- to że brakuje w nim poczciwego konkretnego motoru. Osobiści też nie mogę patrzeć na te tablety na kokpicie🙈, no cóż w tych czasach auta projektują księgowi 🤷‍♂️. Super połączenie kolorów w tym wydaniu, 👏👏Ty. Pozdrawiam 👋👋😉

This VW Buzz is a really nice design but should have a simple diesel engine as opposed to electric power. Unfortunately this VW Buzz platform was designed only for battery power. VW (VAG Group) will find they have made a big mistake dropping petrol/diesel engined vehicles and will have to reverse this policy.

My 18 yo old niece had to drive our old petrol Volvo yesterday. And she did not like it at all. Noisy, no permanent torque, bad acceleration. She likes to drive the electric VW ID.3. So no, I don't think there will be a reverse.

I think it is a mistake to put your eggs in 1 electric basket, the same goes for Mercedes. We have come so far in making combustion engines ever so efficient, that the last thing they should be doing is dropping it. But believe me John, having had lots of discussions with manufacturers, this is the last thing they want to do. All EU politics and pressure. Do you think Porsche wants to produce hybrid engines? Nah! But they have to, to avoid 13k penalty on each car that comes out of their factory. Doesn't matter how many hybrids they sell, as long as the offering is there, that's all that matters. Crazy world.

@@AnnaOnRoads Ursula Von Useless (leader of the EU) announced that the EU is going to ban Chinese EV imports. Germany cannot compete with China on EVs especially after the sanctions on Russia that has screwed Germany for cheap energy and raw materials from Russia. Lets not forget that BYD (Chinese) is not only a car manufacturer but started originally manufacturing lithium batteries.

Electrically Buzzingly great review Anna. Your reviews are always entertaining. I like the looks of the ID. Buzz and it looks like a lot of fun. The ID. Buzz looks funky retro about futuristic all at the same time. Yes definitely flower power here even more as Super flower power. I must admit I would prefer the ones with the two colour to look a bit more like the old VW Campervans. That's what married people won't the ID. Buzz but in a Campervan spec version for those bad times. But I was told never go to bed on an argument but then again that's probably single LOL. I bet the ID. Buzz had a of people having a good look at it. I don't think I seen many ID. Buzz in fact the only one I recall of seeing was when I was in Prague. I thought they would be a Big seller but I guess the price might be a big factor. We got an employee that's vegan and she got some vegan safety boots which I must admit shock to me that they even do such a thing. I remember there was this event that happen in the summer called "Run to the Sun" which was a VW event that got hijacked by party people. But there was a lot of VW Campers. If it was still on I wonder how many VW. Buzz would go and how congested Newquay would be with them needing to change them up. Brilliant video. Well, all the best Anna

What the hell happened to VW. They had a very good looking front end which looked like the old VW bus which gave it a lot of character. Who was the idiot that chose these type of flights inhabit instead of having the nice round ones with the v shape the middle. Go back to the drawing board and DO the retro LOOK. Hi Anna! You said that VW ID BUZZ is something for vegans when you showed the fabric in the car, so you mean that vegans should eat the fabric. Did you know that electric cars are life-threatening in traffic? Because most of these vehicles are silent, more pedestrians have been hit by these vehicles, they do not hear them but step right out in front of the car or behind a reversed electric car. Have been about to get hit myself, because you are used to engine noise and start to cross the road or when someone has backed into you. Psssst! Anna you are talking about how fast it takes to charge these, 30 minutes is a long time, refuel and you are on your way after a minute or so.

Hi Ingvar, lovely seeing you again! Nah, I just tease the vegans a bit ;-) but actually, many vegans don't eat meat because of animals and often, they look for cars without animal leather. Speaking of dangers, yes of course, I nearly got hit by a Tesla when I was rollerblading! One has to pay attention, that's certain. 30 minutes is quick for an electric car of this size, naturally, fuel is much quicker.
