I've owned six New Beetles, and currently own a 2002 NB Turbo S, and a 2013 Beetle TDI. One of my New Beetles was a 2005 1.8T Convertible. Never had a 2.0, only 1.8t, and TDI NB's. I love them all, though!

I have a 99 Beetle 2.0 5speed . 200343 miles on it. After market air intake and i fabricated a cowl injection for the hood to pull cool air, After market muffler just peeks out back bottom left. No electronic mods. After market air dam down front. Coilovers drops it a little for a nice stants. I painted it the early Desert Sand with Blackhood , Top and Trunk lid , rear spoiler for looks and a small top window spoiler I'll call it for air flow. Made Retro rims and put Vw baby Moons on them and White walls. Fast no only down hill lol . But I was never thinking fast I was thinking Gas mileage and at this point I get 62mpg highway and it's cheaper that my big diesel truck. People tell me they usually hate new beetles but love mine lol. I'm a old school guy and have built numerous cars and trucks but this was actually fun to play with.

@@The_Implications my eldest son got this kind of mileage in his 98 manual TDI, I always thought about one of my elder sisters who sang the praises of her Prius for the same thing. I ha e owned two 2013 TDI Beetles, and I averaged between 42 and 48 MPG. I have lost both of them. I now have a 2014 Eos, gasoline engine, and I average 34 to 37 MPG, not as good as the diesels, but acceptable.

The Beetle is the most recognizable car on the road. I own 2 1.8Ts, and one was ordered special online which was the only way to get the deep yellow colour at the time. It gets almost too much attention 'punch buggy!'. But I get compliments on it all the time. My silver one doesn't get much attention at all.

It’s a fun car when it’s working, feels like a gokart and feels good when the turbo kicks in. Not a lot of leg room for anyone taller than 5’11. Plastic interiors falls apart (door handles lol iykyk) the A pillar is super annoying and big. Not a lot of working room and vw throws plastic all over the engine so just know you are going to be replacing a lot but lots of euro parts so. Just a cool car and I loved mine even if it left me stranded in a Taco Bell drive thru lol

I would like a good the “good, bad and ugly” on a Honda CR-V or some other compact suv, because I’ve seen many builds from soft off-road to sleepers. And I think it’d be nice as a first time car option for its versatility, too🤷♂️

I've driven an 03 Honda Crv for about a year. Overall great car. Decent MPG, and a nice pep in its step for what it is. Took it on some pretty steep rocky areas and it handled it surprisingly well completely stock. Good for long trips and the front sears fold out into the back to make a bed!!! My favorite quirk was the picnic table under the floor in the cargo area. Bad part is it's in the shop right now. Might be toast due to a blown head-gasket but it lasted a long time at 250k miles. Just keep up on maintenance and beware of common issues(Starter is a pain to get to)

Was not the video I sought but I remember this it just was never a Beetle IMHO. just dumb if you ask me. The ONLY way they could have done this would be if it was based on the Porsche Boxter platorm with the beetle top profile and various other touches.. Had it bee THAT? A mid engined Porshe detuned and pricepoint adjusted hardware?...acutally today a price point cayman remodeled to look like the original Beetle could be awesome! But the way it was actually done instead? kinda sucky lameoh imho....fwd beetle seriously?? The mini I feel is also undesrable thankfully the Miata was not treated like these porkers. Hey maybe VW should have partnered with Mazda and used the Miata RX7 platform with a bug body? Still would not be right but it would have been WAY MORE right! IMHO! And instant icon car too! That little rotary could have easily accomodated a bug body! Would have been different but actually BETTER tha the original bug too! Would be a cult car to this day and highly sought after IMHO
