that disc is put on by engine reconditioners if it gets over heated it drops off voiding the warrenty

Following this with interest. I have a 30HP in bits, case machined etc. ready for re-assembly as a stock 1200 but I'm going to wait and see what you do with this one before I fully commit!

That little button that's glued to the case is an overheat tab. The material in the middle should be light aluminum or if I'm correct lead and if the engine gets hot enough to overheat it will melt that little Center material and you can see if the engine has overheated just by looking at that tab

I think there is two tiny oil plugs on the lifter bore galleys, one on each case half, flywheel side
