I would personally say the 1.4TSI is a great motor and all. But specifically for vehicles like the Passat and Tiguan it's too small and underpowered to give competitive performance. I personally wouldn't go down from less than the 1.8TSI and 2.0 TSI. The 1.8 might have similar power figures on paper to the 1.4. But a remap on both puts them very far apart. Much more room to play with in the 1.8 and 2.0
