VW Polo 6n2 Central Locking Fault

This happens on a lot of cars, Polo 6N2, Golf MK4, Jetta etc. The problem are the rear tail lights. During every heavy rain a lot of water is going inside the trunk between the tail lights and fender. The taillight seals are shoddy, I coated them with silicone and now everything is fine. Previously, the spare tire compartment was filled with 20 cm of water. This car is a aquarium when it rains...

I know that place!!! LOL The drains from the roof failed in mine and I was plodging in 4 inches of water front and back. Nightmare!! LOL Fixed now.

Very useful thank you... slightly different problem.. The motor was dipping in and out of operation with the car running on the road...trying to do something...also parked up and flattening the battery over a couple of days...opened it up couldn't see anything in particular..apart from dust...so gave the board..a light hoover and a light spray of alcohol..with a fine paintbrush cleaned it off as well as the connector plug...it seems to behave now..that was a week ago...🤔thanks again really helpful 👍

Thanks very much for this. Same problem with my wife's 2000 Polo. Took the pump out. Took it apart. Full of corrosion. Took some Iso Propal Alcohol and a toothbrush to it. Fixed in under an hour.

Cheers for that heads up . Need to look at the sons as it only unlocks on passenger side however will lock from drivers side . Easier to check than pulling the doors apart first

Hi, I have noticed previous owner un plugged it and as soon as i plugged it in. I can hear long whinnying noise and it stays on for a while. I took it apart and everything was bone dry no sign of water leaks. I cleaned it with electrical contact cleaner and clean the terminals still no luck with it 😖

@@fizaraja2205 maybe the unit is just worn out and needs to be replaced. Mine was the corroded terminals but they can go wrong for other reasons too. I hope you get it fixed 👍🏻

Hi thanks for sharing this video and so glad I run by this if I have this problem with any car. I have a polo S 2010 an I bought it and came with the key like you have for central locking. I'm not sure if this car meant to also come with a thob so you can use it without using the key. Do your or are these also thob controlled would be nice because these are a pain in the arse using key all the time and if so I go and buy one. Bought the car for my son first time driver thanks 👍👍👍

I don't think this spec had remote central locking via a fob, I think it was just central locking via the key. Maybe a higher spec Polo (top of range) had a fob, but this one didn't. Glad the video helped. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

Gently with a wire brush or some sand paper. Either will do 👍🏻

I had the exact same problem but mine was too far gone .. the pump was literally soaked in a pond I replaced it with a used one for 20 Pounds... the thing is that everytime I open the door the emergency lights are flashing for ten times or up until I close the door ... and I don't know why this happens, but it's really really annoying. Any suggestion on how to stop it it would be awesome

Unsure what you mean... plastic doesn't rust...
