Thank you so much for helping me understand the detents better, this video is helping me immensely. I’m almost done rebuilding my A727 in my 75 Dodge B200. It has the 318 V8 5.2L engine and stopped going into reverse. Along with the detents being out of place, I found the top of the Low Reverse band adjustment arm assembly had broken off and cracked my billet piston servo.

Julian, you are an artist! I didn't think you could do all that! And to be honest, in the beginning, I was curious if it would turn into that decent of a job... especially using such basic tools as you do! You do deserve some sponsorship! George's video also applies to the G-Wagen 463 (2009 in my case), which uses similar jets although attached to the hood / vent via a different assemblies that are shaped as simple "boxes" around the jets you see in this video. To detach them, delicately pry them up /down. They are connected by 2 horizontal tabs. Note that the plastic of the electrical connectors on the jets is very brittle after a few years. Thus, unplug the water and the electric connectors (as per George's video) before you try to free the jets from the hood, this will give you a better grip.

I bought the same carb, cheap. Ran good a couple days. Then took a few hills, side to side. Now runs like shit. Leaking gas out the jets while off. Loading up terrible.

@SortedGeorgeGarageАй бұрын
You're welcome Stacy. Standard thinners are just cleaning thinners, like a carb cleaner spray can. Luckily I didn't need to adjust the floats on mine, but there will be info out there on the Internet for that, sorry I couldn't help with that, but I'm glad the video helped you out overall 😃👍🏻 SGG

Julian, your perseverance is admirable. Floor work like that is a bitch to do, so here’s a couple of suggestions- get yourself a Sawzall so you can give the wheel of death a rest! Also if you rest the car on wooden wheel cribs, the body flex is more manageable and you can minimize floor twisting since the wheel cribs emulate the car resting on the ground. Crack on! 😎

All that work was clearly worth it. Well done! I have a small section of frame rail on the back of my '79 Dodge St. Regis in need of repair, not nearly as much as what you had to do. The big job for me will be replacing the K frame with one I got last weekend. My front frame rails are good but the original K-member rusted away where the rear passenger bushing bolts in. Your Coronet is a direct ancestor to my St. Regis.
@SortedGeorgeGarageАй бұрын

@@SortedGeorgeGarage Young? It's been awhile since anyone has called me that! That's an old photo of me on my profile. I'm 62, young enough in my head to go out there and do it and old enough to pay for it the next morning!😜 Well, at least I won't have to soak the k member bolts for six months since replacing the bushings was how I found the rust damage. That should help at least. It's okay if videos take awhile, they're always worth the wait. 👍

Nice job! The driver’s side always seems to be the worst - I think from the salty slush that accumulates in the middle of the road here in wintertime. Had the driver’s side torsion bar mount let go on my ‘67 Coronet with a car full of friends with me many years ago - it was quite a bang!
