My girlfriend has the Bluemotion 75ps 1.4tdi, 82 gram co2 version of this car. We also remapped the engine and unblocked all the eco filters, 75hp became about 105hp with 180lbs of torque. It has special low drag bodywork and wheels. We have reached over 200 kph downhill and about 190 on a flat road. Fuel consumption is very low with the filters unblocked and the remap installed, under 2.5 litre per 100km or over 100 mpg if you cruise 90 to 110 kph is possible. Even above 130 kph we still get over 70 mpg, its amazing. 0 to 100kph used to take about 12 secs, now its 9 secs. Not as fast as a hot hatch but the in gear acceleration is much improved. The standard car has long gear ratios, with 75hp it was very slow, especially uphill. But now its so much better with 105 hp especially at the top end, 3000 to 4000rpm is so much better now the engine can breath freely.

how do you pass inspection with the filters removed?

​@@MrMaxusy You only need to hollow out the insides. The filters appear completely normal from the outside. Because the engine can breath so freely afterwards you can gain about 20% better fuel economy if the remap includes the low revs so you can start using 4th and 5th gears at lower speeds. The top end power gains depends on fuelling capacity and turbo size. Budget 400 to 600 for the work and remap. But check if the guy will tune the low revs, if he refuses find someone else.

@@derekb4092 thanks for the info. But in many countries they do emissions testing to pass inspection. Failed emissions test and you can't drive the car anymore. How to deal with that?

​@@MrMaxusy Make sure your mechanic is also a qualified emission tester. The test can involve putting a sensor probe into the tail pipe. All he has to do is pull the probe back a few cm so the reading is lower and within allowable regulations. Then it passes. Don't think about trying this at a big mainline dealer. You need a small local shop that also does your oil and filter service at the same time. Then keep going back to him for small jobs and become one of his regular customers. Help each other. Also consider that overall the emissions are much lower because after tuning you are using much less fuel in normal driving so much less emissions are produced. So tuning helps reduce pollution.

Those overdrive gears are amazing, my 2001 1.9 sdi ibiza i have to go 80 or 90 kmh to do 4 liters. at higher speeds rpm get too high.

It´s a TDI, it actually stands for Turbocharged direct injection. So it has a very good fuel consumption, 3.6 l/100 km, 65.34 US mpg

@@BillCipher1337? Das ist doch voll gut. Ich muss als Fahränfanger, mit dem Corsa D meiner Mutter fahren, der hat nur 60 PS. Benziner, da geht es im 5 Gang Bergauf, nicht mehr Vorwärts, sondern Rückwärts, wenn ich nicht schalte xDD. Das ist eine Zumutung, auf der Autobahn, wenn ich es Eillig habe, und der Verkehr Dicht ist. Wenn man dann auf einen LKW Trifft am Berg, und der selber nur mit 40 da hochkommt, den dann wieder in Fahrt zu bekommen, das ist unmöglich, bei dichtem Verkehr. Musste deswegen, schon so oft in den 1 Gang zurück, und den Ausfahren, bis fast in den Begrenzer, und dann ging es die ganze Zeit im 3 Gang mit Vollgas den Berg hoch. Das waren dann 80 Km/h und 4000 Umdrehungen. Also wenn der Peugeot eine Zumutung sein soll, dann ist dir nicht mehr zu helfen😅. Ich wünschte ich könnte mal den Berg im 5 Gang hochfahren. Ich muss jedes mal in den 4 zurück, um da einigermaßen hoch zu kommen. Und das schlimmste ist, der hat nur 5 Gänge und im 5 Gang dreht der bei 120 Km/h schon fast 4000 Umdrehungen xDD (Es könnte sein, dass Rechtschreibfehler drin sind, habe kein Bock nach zugucken, um sie zu korrigieren😅. Die Autokorrektur ist dann dran Schuld 😅)

Most diesels have no benefit when revved over 4000rpm. I know mine dies pretty quickly after 4k.

Don’t forget that VAG speedos are not the most accurate ones, real top speed should be around 10km/h less. Every car can be fast if you’re driving downhill on an autobahn like this one. Still, nice for an small diesel urban car.
