In this VW DIY video, I demonstrate how to replace a Water Distribution Pipe AKA Crack Pipe. This video will also be helpful for someone replacing the Secondary Air Pump AKA SAP.

awesome tutorial thanks so much. very well done and between this and your other radiator video i'm much more confident with crackin' into my 04R. One question and perhaps worth a mention in this or future videos is how to reinstall the coolant system without getting air bubbles. Are there any tricks that you know of for this? How did you go about it on your vehicle?

Thanks first of all! Question, do you just turn housing counter clockwise to take housing off?

hey buddy great video, by the way, tell me where do you get your Air Intake Kit + Red Filter and how does it work seems pretty simple instead of having the regular air box aside.

Nice, I'm doing this on my R32 right now. I dont think i need to remove the air pump so i tried to going in from the thermo side. Unfortunately my pipe broke when trying to remove it from the water pump.... so now I can't grab it. Can you point me to the video of how you remove the front end, I couldn't find it? Thanks!

No, you don't have to but taking a video of this job without removing the core support would be pretty useless to the people watching. We are all very impressed though lol

If a car was in a front Collision can the crack pipe pop loose after the Collision Repair was already repaired because I'm not seeing coolant pipe broken or anything it just seem to have popped out of the water pump could this happen and also you didn't put any lubricant on the thermostat gasket does it not need lubricant of any kind?

I've always wondered about the benefits of buying the more expensive aluminum or steel coolant pipes that they make, because the Thermo housing remains plastic and the O rings that connect the coolant pipe are still made out of rubber and can end up wearing out over time like they always do. So I don't even see if its even worth it to spend the extra $$ on the more expensive and durable crackpipe because the supporting parts remain the same.
