hi i have a MANN filter there is part on it should i remove it or not its like sponge in the bottom of filter tanks

Some air filters come with this sponge. You don't need to remove it, that's for extra filtration. Depends on brand, some filters for my car come with the spongy bit, some don't.

​@@wawayltdAccording to a company I buy auto parts from, the filters with the extra sponge are intended for cars driven in colder climates. Most brands seem to sell both versions (with or without pre-filter).

Hi Not related to this video but can you possibly tell me why stop / start does not work normally. Its very rare it will work maybe 3 times whilst stopping.

Start-stop system has mind of its own - it works or it doesn't depending on various circumstances like engine temperature, whether dpf is going through regen or not, wear of the battery etc.. In my personal opinion, I think they just done it to push emissions slightly more towards government tough regulations, but in real life there's not much ecology or fuel economy, just wear of battery (mind battery for cars with start-stop is like double triple cost) and starter motor. Therefore I always turn it off. But! That's just my amateur opinion :)

Probably there is a gas leak somewhere. I didn't have that problem, sorry, I can't help.

Nice video mate! By the way, how often do you change the air filter? I just bought a 2016 Passat 1.8 TSI which has the same filter as yours. VW USA recommended every 60K miles, which I think is kinda too long...

It depends on a region you live - they have a page for it in owners manual book. Depends how dusty is the air there. Same as fuel filter depends on fuel quality standards -also can last up to 60K miles. Personally I change fuel filter and air filter every second oil service (2x9400 miles). But by the look - they still look pretty tidy. I just change the, because they are cheap.. and because I'm in love with my car :)
