I just bought a SunBug featured in VW Trends in March 1998... It needs front end work... Are the parts the same if someone put DISC BRAKES on it? Many of these parts require press fits, no?

Another great video Slades. I was wondering what that other hole in the front was for 😂. I have had to use the one towards the front because the front use to leak. I am probably going to redo my steering box too to make sure no water may have gotten in or anything it’s still original has never been tampered with according to service records and everything. I plan on doing bearings and stuff too eventually. Keep up the good work. As good as your videos are I would believe you are a professional mechanic. These are by far the most detailed.

So I was working on my steering box. Got all the way up to the part where you replace the cover. Then, it turned ugly. I screwed the cover on, holding the adjustment screw in place with a screwdriver, and got to where it would get any further. Like you I started to snug all the bolts down. (

I think someone mentioned, for the idler arm, maybe you could put the assembly in the vise and "push" the bearing in? BTW, did you do the "zirk" fitting thing? I am assuming you have to drill into the bushing as well as into the box.. There is a grease groove in the brass bushing.
