Thank you for showing your process here. My van has terrible rust in that exact same rear right jack point. I'm in the US, so that's my passenger side with the slider. The lower corners of the slider opening are rotten on both sides (front and back). I'm looking for references and yours is the best I found so far.

how do you recommend removing a paned along a seam? I need to replace my rear quarter like you have done here but want to preserve the flange of the adjoining piece thanks

Its usually a case of drilling out the spot welds and then grinding back until it comes away
