It's an overall score, that includes maintenance, ease of ownership, service costs etc. If only product is rated, it would probably be near the top, it's just old reliability issues that stains skoda/VW reputation, like old Tatas

Thanks for the pretty comprehensive video and especially clearing my dilemma between the Taigun and Kushaq. I was also inclined towards VW more. And personally as you asked I prefer navigation on the side screen rather than in the digital cockpit.

(1) I rather like the tail lights. They remind me of the VW of the 80s. (2) I prefer maps on the infotainment system. Therein i can get a broader picture of where I am and where do i want to go. But if they are on the Digi-cluster just behind the steering, it kind of becomes way too congested. If they give me a narrow but wrong info about my locations, then there is no way for corrections till I make a wrong turn.

VW cars are the safest and the most fun to drive cars. I own a 2010 model Vento top model, till date I only had to spend Rs. 20,000 on wear and tear of spares. Service cost comes to Rs. 10000 and that's too once after every 15000 km. Even after completing 1 lac km it drives like brand new car. And with 1600cc petrol engine and AC on, it gives a mileage of 20km per litre. VW AC is so effective. U will never feel the need of ventilated seats even in Indian temperatures.

Looking for maps on the left side always a distraction , if maps available directly in the cluster looking at it when needed is more useful . Most vehicles place it on left side where we need to look away from road.

It's more than 14 to 21lacs OTR from lower to top end. In an ideal world I would like to put this 1.5L engine into Creta! And I don't know why reviewers are still shy of telling the OTR prices instead of ex showroom prices in this GST era. That is a disservice to the viewers.

Which one did you buy? I'm giving the highest points for safety so it's between Taigun and Mahindra XUV300. Between these two, I'm more in favor of Taigun because it has more automotive features which translate to driving stability. The rest are good vehicles but their features are more cosmetics and not automotive.

on your question around navigation, Would prefer it in the MID/instrument cluster rather than common Infotainment unit. Best, on a HUD rather than IC.

Hmmm okay. I think it’s easier to glance at the infotainment than the instrumentation for navigation maps, unless it’s just the turn by turn inputs. Of course, for the latter, HUD is best.

It is good vehicle, concern is 1.5tsi manual varient is not having many features like 1.5 automatic varient got, such as sun roof, key less entry, led head lamp, drl, button start, curtain air bags etc, All these features missing in 1.5 manual as per many reviews what I have seen, I would like to go for 1.5 manual with all these features inbuilt, if 1.5 manual without these features may not be liked by many customers being spent 17.00-18.00L, hence vw may re think and release 1.5 manual with all these features as one more varient to attract more customers.

Please read completely before buying VW's. Yeah they look awesome but they sell you defected pieces. I bought a highline automatic vento in Feb this year, I was so happy when I first drove it, as soon I applied brakes I heard a loud scratching noise from rear drums. So I went to the vw dealer next day and asked him to replace the rare drump brakes as it was their fault to sell a defected piece. But they didn't replace and made an adjustment nd told me that sound will not resume again. But as soon I came out of the showroom and applied brakes the sound did come out even stronger nd louder. Total six times they asked me to visit their service station but still they weren't able to solve the issue. Till this day even after raising the complaint at vw customer care there is still no action. VW customer care is a big joke. Worst thing is Mileage I am getting 7kmpl in the city. When I recieved the vehicle from the dealer the speedo meter was showing 86km and first time I heard the sound at 89km. So whose fault was that. I have drive 6000kms with loud scratching noise still coming out of my brakes. So I request not to Buy this cars as they were not meant for Indian roads. I am not saying this the vw dealer ship manager and his crew told me that. Because of the dust present on the Indian roads such sounds come out of the vehicle when brakes applied, German roads are clean so they don't get such sounds, they told me that. I am still using it that way as I don't want to spend any extra money on my brand new defected vento. Please don't buy them because service really sucks

I didn't like this alteration of virtual cockpit ☹️. Was so excited for this getting the virtual cockpit but sadly, it didn't. Yes, I want the maps to be over there on the cockpit looks so cool, that's the best thing about it and I've always loved it. If it's not that screen, I don't mind not having this one either. The virtual cockpit is loved for its features and not for gimmicks. Ppl buying VW will 80-90% be VW fans and they know that they're not getting the things they love. For mass market, it's good, for us, it's bad!

Awesome review. Few things not clear from any of the reviews: 1. Does the GT DSG have a subwoofer like in Kushaq? 2. Some say one of the twin pods in the headlamps is dummy. Is that so?

The top trim has a dummy barrel because one barrel does all the job. The lower trims with halogen needs 2 barrel, one for lower and one for upper. The top will not look good with just 1 barrel so there is one dummy for aesthetic purpose.

Superb review sir.. appreciate. As a car enthusiast eight months back I had suggested to all my elite friends not to buy T Rock as I knew it was a import and had significant benefits to VW for all the sales they did In lots of 1000 units... However we were aware that another gasoline small suv was on the cards as a taigun ..., So I suggested my friends to wait and then decide. Channels like yours mislead people. Specially rich people..they brought T Rock while I would have told them to wait and u would get actually get a similar car what u needed at half the cost... U journalists however good u r are have to be realistic to car tech limited knowledge respondents.. People who spent 25+ lac on Troc Waste of money ..at least 10 lakh against this product..

The troc is not 20 lakhs it's 21.50 ex showroom..on road it's 26.in maharastra it's 27.50 lakhs..great car though the troc I'm going to wait for the taigun before I decide on the troc on the taigun

Virtual cockpit should have navigation and one touch up and down for windows is a must have for VW along with remote key operation for windows. Being narrow and not able to accommodate 5 passengers comfortably is a bummer. Minuscule boot space is not acceptable. Coming from a very dissatisfied hard-core Volkswagen fan.

Good video..can you confirm if the big chunks of foam can still be found stuck under the bonnet and fenders for vibration reduction ? till date none of the youtube channels or car review channels have spoken about it...WHY ? If you are true to your customers why dont you talk about this issue that can easily attract rats n the purpose of these foams is compromised by design...Is this what they think Indians deserve ? BTW i own a Fabia for 10yrs now n this car comes no where near to the build quality...shame...if they get 5 stars i will be very happy...but the foam...a BIG NO NO

It all boils down to price. Kushaq has been expensive on the top models for the equipment it offered, with Taigun they have omitted those leather ventilated seats. The digital instrument cluster is something that doesn't suit a VW and looks like its been picked out of parts bin for a Renault Kiger with its limited functionality. The premium of Taigun over Kushaq has to be justifiable, and VW needs to either equip better or keep prices in check.

All said & done about Kushaq & Tiagun both VW-Skoda twins, agreed they are nice good Cars. But disappointed with their high pricing for only Petrol inspite of claimed 95% localisation. I liked Kushaq's Front profile & Taigun's Rear Profile. Choice is personal. To certain extent 1.0 TSI Base Variant price is justified but other are exuberantly priced for comfortable 4 members & not to big Service Stn. Network in India. My gut feeling is Kushaq & Taigun sales nos. may not cross over 30,000 Units annually. Koreans twins offers better cabin Space Only satisfaction is We Indians have forced them to manufacturer in India & at the same time compelled them to follow & use Chromes like the Korean Twins. Its no more a classic German timeless designed Cars. 🤔😀😅😜🤣
