VW Transporter T5 / T6 Sliding Door Handle Fix / Repair.

If your door handle won't open the sliding door from the outside, this may be the free fix for you. Remove the interior door cover and look to see if the pin in the door mech is missing. If so look inside the door for it and put it back into the mech to fix your door handle. Hope this video was of use to you.

I had the same issue where that metal pin had come unclipped and I couldn't open the door from the outside. After watching this I just clipped it back in and it works like new. Thanks so much :)

Mine too. there is another spring on the handle but it's almost impossible to get to without removing the whole mech.

I have a 2017 t6 and sliding door doesn't always unlock on the key. Seems worse now it's cold. Few attempts and it opens. Any help appreciated

It could possibly be your door contact. It's three or for contacts that stick out from the sliding door to the front. Try a cotton bud and some wd40 to clean them. The receiver part is indented in the bodywork clean both. Hope this helps 👍
