Love the Gene Berg carb linkage; talk about superb quality. They also say it is better to adjust carbs when the car has been running and the motor is hot.

Thanks, very true it's best to tune carbs on a fully warmed engine. The berg linkage is nice and smooth and dependable

Great video! Sounds really good especially for old gas. Definitely sounds on the rich end from what I can hear on the video. I’d back off the accelerator pump adjustments, looks like they were a bit far in and might be contributing to the rich burble on acceleration. Keep up the good work!!

Thanks Gary I'll definitely have to do that, they have always just worked without a problem in the past but every engine is different and from what I remember you want the smallest pump stroke you can get before it's lean. The empi Oh Oh Nein has some serious issues, the advance starts coming in at like 2200 rpm and when it gets close to 3k it bounces from 25-45 from what I could read(at that setting it was close to 8 degrees at idle) I can definitely tell it was lacking in the advance department.

@@V8N8T you’re correct on the adjustments. Wow, that’s some serious timing jumpage!

@@V8N8T Did you switch the ignition? I hear good things about the Magnaspark from CB Performance. Pat Downs has the same thing with a different name as well.

@vayabroder729 no, I ended up leaving a 009 with pertronix. I tried a couple distributors and rebuilt a nice German one but all the timing scatter is internal with the distributor drive gear. One of these years I'll have to tear the motor down and inspect everything

What ignition are you running?
@V8N8T Жыл бұрын
That is a 009 distributor and a compufire distributorless ignition(even though you still need the dizzy) gives you a hotter spark, wasted spark, and lack of cap and rotor so less maintenance
