I had one of these back in 2005 when I was in England. The clutch went and it was impossible to find the parts to repair the clutch as it was automatic with a manual stick.

Das hat mit Automatik Getriebe nix zu tun da kannste auch selber schalten! Automatikgetriebe hat immer ein wählhebel un keinen Schalthebel!

Die Halbautomatik verhält sich wie ein Opa (oder es hängt von ihrem Gasfuß ab...) - mit erhöhter Drehzahl in die Gänge rein. Und ich weiß nicht ob das dann so bequem ist wenn ich darüber nachdenke, wie mein TDI den Golf durschschüttelt, wenn er aus geht.

Sort of. Start stop systems don't turn the engine off while coasting, only while fully stopped.

It's a mild-hybrid.

Evolt It’s not quite a mild hybrid as there does not appear to be an electric motor that drives the powertrain at all. It simply turns off the engine while coasting and while stopped, even mild hybrids use an electric motor to assist the combustion engine during acceleration and to regenerate electricity during deceleration.

Evolt No, it is not any type of hybrid. There’s no electric propulsion in the powertrain, unlike something such as the early Honda IMA mild hybrids or the Chevy Malibu Eco mild hybrids.
